WWE Vengeance Preview
WWE Vengeance is this weekend, and all the championships will be on the line. Today, we're going to make our predictions on the show.
John Cena vs Mic Foley vs Randy Orton vs Bobby Lashley vs King Booker
The biggest match on the show will be the one for the WWE Heavyweight Championship. After months of being forced to see Cena defending his title against the likes of Umaga and the Great Khali, fans now get to see him defend against four new challengers...at once.
As always, we're expecting Cena to retain his title. Hopefully, the match leads to a feud between Cena and Foley. A feud with Foley can provide Cena with even more credibility.
Edge vs Batista
The World Heavyweight Championship will also be on the line as Edge defends against Batista. If Batista loses this match, then he will not be allowed to challenge Edge for the title again.
The stipulation is what makes this match something to look forward to. It leads you to believe that Batista will win the title, but that won't be the case. Edge is expected to have a long title reign.
It'll be interesting to see who the WWE chooses to challenge Edge next. There is a lack of main event faces on Smackdown right now. Internet wrestling fans are hoping it'll be Matt Hardy who steps up to the plate.
CM Punk vs Chris Benoit
This is a dream match that has fans salivating at the chance to see this match steal the show. Either way, an internet favorite is going to be winning the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.
Benoit should get the strap here and defend against Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von for a few months. Punk will also keep himself in title contention.
Wouldn't be surprised to see a fatal four way soon for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.
Santino Marella vs Umaga
Interesting match here as well. They'll either push Marella even more by having him sneak a win over Umaga, or they'll drop Marella back down by having him get squashed. Marella's gimmick isn't getting him over, so we expect Umaga to be the Intercontinental Champion again.
MVP vs Ric Flair
Excellent booking here. With Benoit moved over to Smackdown, the writers needed someone else to come in and help MVP look good. Flair is a natural choice. MVP will retain the United States Heavyweight Championship in a solid match.
Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy vs Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch
Prior to the draft, we would have expected Cade and Murdoch to retain the championship, while the Hardys go their separate ways back into the singles division. However, we now expect to see the Hardys winning the title back and defending against the World's Greatest Tag Team and London/Kenrick.
Chavo Guerrero vs Jimmy Wang Yang
The WWE isn't fooling us. This match is only on the show because they need all the belts defended. Guerrero and Yang will try to steal the show with a superb match, but the crowd won't be into it at all because it hasn't been promoted well. Guerrero should retain here.
Melina vs Candice Michelle
Candice has been built up for quite a while now. Expect to see Candice getting the belt just for the sake of having a title switch.
Final Analysis
The pay per view should be above average. The hype and concept behind the show is solid. Plus, there's a potential match of the year candidate in the Punk/Benoit match. |
