Scott Steiner Injured
At the TNA house show in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Scott Steiner suffered a severe throat injury.
Steiner was teaming up with Robert Roode in a tag team match against Jeff Jarrett and Apolo. During the match, Apolo gave Steiner a kick to the throat. Apparently, the blow from the kick was more severe than Steiner thought it was.
After the show, Steiner began having trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital in the early morning.
Steiner will have to undergo surgery, which means that he is expected to miss some time from the ring. The exact amount of time is unknown at the moment.
His absence means that TNA will have to cancel the match between the Steiners and the Dudleys. To many, this was a dream match. Two of the better tag teams in the past 2 decades finally face off.
In an interview segment that was highly praised by the internet wrestling community, the Steiners verbally assaulted the Dudleys' legacy. They began listing off the legendary tag teams that they have defeated in the past. The list was quite impressive.
The Dudleys were unable to make a verbal comeback to that. In their defense, though, there's a not a tag team around right now that can make a verbal comeback to the Steiners' claim. No other team has quite as impressive of a resume as the Steiners do.
Hopefully, Steiner makes a full recovery so the dream match can finally happen. |
