USA Network Announces WWE Draft Lottery
The USA Network is now advertising a WWE Draft Special for Raw on June 11, 2007.
This is also the same night as the "Night of Champions" show where every match will be a title match.
Granted, TV listings have been wrong before and the draft doesn't end up happening. However, it does seem that the WWE is trying to make the June 11th show very special.
With all of the injuries that have plagued the roster as of late, a draft is exactly what the company needs to balance things out a bit and freshen up the matches.
Raw could really use a fresh heel main eventer right now, so King Booker would be a logical choice to move, especially considering how Edge holds the top heel spot on Smackdown now. A feud between Booker and John Cena for the WWE Heavyweight Championship would be fresh and would put an established veteran in the ring with Cena.
Another intriguing feud would be King Booker against Shawn Michaels later on this fall when Michaels returns from his injury. That feud could easily headline one of the major pay per views. Perhaps the Survivor Series?
Moving CM Punk over to Smackdown could also do wonders for that show. Punk can be the next big push in the WWE on Smackdown. Punk and Kennedy can have a solid feud that could elevate both wrestlers. Punk can then move on to a feud with Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
With Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and possibly Sandman leaving ECW, now would be a good time to move someone like Chris Benoit over to help carry the show. Benoit's presence and in ring ability can help elevate Elijah Burke to challenge for Bobby Lashley's ECW Heavyweight Championship.
So many possibilities. |
