As a sign of how bad the situation is for Daniel Bryan, reports have now surfaced that WWE has discussed internally a new backstage role that he could fill. Management wants to keep him around because he is still popular. Plus, they still have upcoming merchandise for him that needs to be promoted. There are talks of Bryan being an on screen character, but there is no confirmation that he would be interested in such a role.

There are people backstage in WWE that believe that Bayley can be a tremendous asset to the main roster in the near future. The thinking is that she will be a fan favorite of the younger demographic because of how playful her character is. That might enable her to sell toys and other merchandise for the company, which is a trait that the front office loves. Since she is also gorgeous, she should be able to attract older men as well.

A lot of information gets released when a big lawsuit is taking place. Since he is suing WWE for damages that were done to him while he was working for them, we now now how much Big Vito was making. His salary for the year was $75,000, which should come as a shock to fans who assume that wrestlers are paid a whole lot more than that. He was also given a percentage of merchandise sold, which really amounted to very little.

Aside from his tremendous performances thus far, one of the big reasons why WWE has opted to push Finn Balor is because he has been able to move merchandise better than most of the guys on the NXT roster. The feeling is that they can increase those numbers by putting him in more of a featured role. That is why he is challenging Kevin Owens, another top merchandise mover in developmental, for the heavyweight championship.

This experiment that WWE did with Kevin Owens being given an immediate push has seemingly paid off instantly. Not only is there more interest from the internet wrestling community, but ticket sales at NXT live events have been doing better than usual since Owens was booked in main event matches against Finn Balor during the tour. Owens is also reportedly moving a good amount of merchandise, so a promotion to the main roster is expected.

Earlier in the year, AJ Lee sparked quite the controversy when she called out Stephanie McMahon about how WWE was treating the divas not as equally as the male performers. During a recent interview with Mark Madden, the former Divas Champion appeared to ease back quite a bit on her claims. AJ stated that the girls were paid fairly, and she also noted how merchandise percentage is the same for the girls as it is for the guys.

Another interesting backstage story in WWE has been told by Court Bauer, a former writer for the company. He stated that management purposely made it where CM Punk could never sell more merchandise than John Cena. Whenever the number for Punk merchandise would rise, the company would then produce more products for Cena. They also shipped out a lot more Cena merchandise to the live events to make sure Punk did not beat him.

After doing an autograph session over the weekend, CM Punk was made aware that some of the fans ended up taking the signed merchandise and put it up for sale online. That upset the former WWE Heavyweight Champion, stating that he was simply trying to do a nice thing for the fans but a few assholes end up ruining it for everyone. People have long criticized Punk for not being overly friendly, but things like these are the reasons behind that.

Another name has surfaced for an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony at Wrestlemania this year. Masahiro Chono is considered a candidate for the role. Management has been wanting a legend from Japan to be included in this class, and several names, including Tatsumi Fujinami and Genichiro Tenryu, have surfaced. Chono might have an advantage since he already has a merchandise agreement with the company.

A rather interesting report has surfaced about Matt Hardy and his net worth. It is being said that he is worth approximately $10 million. Some are questioning that figure, but it might not necessarily be completely out of line. Hardy was paid very well by WWE for years because his merchandise numbers were among the best. He also has been able to maintain a good quality of life by being one of the most popular performers on the indies circuit.
