When asked about his contract with TNA, Matt Hardy did confirm that it is expiring in February. He was very complimentary of the promotion and stated that he has more creative power backstage. Hardy is dedicated to helping the brand grow, as he feels that it is good for the industry to have multiple companies doing well. When asked about WWE, he did not rule out a potential return there, either.

Shortly after 2016 begins, Matt Hardy will become a free agent again. His contract with TNA is expiring soon. The former United States Heavyweight Champion enjoys working for the promotion, and the company likes having him around. A contract extension would not be shocking by any means. However, none of that is confirmed at the moment because Hardy has not revealed his plans for the future.

Over the weekend, Matt Hardy ran his annual WrestleCade event for the fourth straight year. In the main event, he lost the title to Jeff Jarrett, who becomes the second champion in the history of the promotion. The match was very notable because Hardy was bleeding profusely after a guitar shot. Jarrett was unable to make the guitar break completely, so Hardy took the blow at full force.

Tournament matches are being filmed this week, and there are rumors that Bobby Lashley is going to end up being crowned as the top guy in the promotion again. There are also talks that he will face Matt Hardy in the finals, which means that Ethan Carter will be out of the picture.

For those of you that missed out on seeing Bound For Glory last night, a new world heavyweight champion was crowned by TNA at the pay per view. Matt Hardy defeated Ethan Carter and Drew Galloway in a triple threat match to become the top champion in a major promotion for the very first time. He celebrated with his wife, son and father in the middle of the ring. The event was in his home state of North Carolina.

His latest partnership might come in the form of OMEGA, the promotion that is owned and operated by Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. Jarrett allowed two of their performers to work a championship match at a GFW live event.

TNA recently filmed a segment for Impact Wrestling that featured Matt Hardy dressed up as Bigfoot. Much of the internet wrestling community was quick to criticize the promotion for doing something that outlandish. Well, it turns out that Destination America was the one that requested the segment to be done so they could use it to promote another show on the network.

In order to help their performers make more money each year, TNA has decided to modify the rule that prevents them from working in other promotions. In the past, special permission was granted for the wrestlers to work on cards promoted by Tommy Dreamer, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. Now, they are free to work internet pay per view events for smaller independent companies. ROH is still not an option for the wrestlers, however.

While they certainly do not have plans on rushing things, it appears that OMEGA is in good hands and is looking to expand as a promotion. Jeff Hardy revealed in an interview how excited he was to be working on a project that he and Matt Hardy started when they were just teenagers. He also alluded to the fact that Shane Helms is the guy that is running things behind the scenes. Their live events have been massively popular and successful.
