For those that missed the POP TV debut of Impact Wrestling, Ethan Carter is once again the world heavyweight champion in TNA. That is quite interesting as the original plans called for Bobby Lashley to defeat Matt Hardy for the belt. No official word yet on why management made the change, but there are speculations that Lashley might need to focus more on his MMA training now that he is a top contender for a Bellator title.

When asked about his contract with TNA, Matt Hardy did confirm that it is expiring in February. He was very complimentary of the promotion and stated that he has more creative power backstage. Hardy is dedicated to helping the brand grow, as he feels that it is good for the industry to have multiple companies doing well. When asked about WWE, he did not rule out a potential return there, either.

Shortly after 2016 begins, Matt Hardy will become a free agent again. His contract with TNA is expiring soon. The former United States Heavyweight Champion enjoys working for the promotion, and the company likes having him around. A contract extension would not be shocking by any means. However, none of that is confirmed at the moment because Hardy has not revealed his plans for the future.

Since she was involved in an online dispute with someone that works backstage in the company, the belief is that Reby Sky is black listed from being signed to a contract. That does not appear to be a big issue to her since she is currently focused on being a new mother. Matt Hardy still generates a pretty good income for the family, so it is not a situation where she is desperate for work.

Rumors are floating around that WWE has admonished Lisa Youngberg, a backstage employee who is married to Shannon Moore, for her involvement in an ugly situation on social media with Reby Sky, the wife of Matt Hardy. Management was afraid that someone like TMZ would pick up on the story and turn it into negative press for the company.

When the announcement was made that Matt Hardy would be representing TNA on a three man team during the Lucha Libre World Cup, many began to wonder who else Dixie Carter would be sending down to Mexico. We now know that Drew Galloway and Mr Anderson are going to be joining him on the team. All three guys have name value from their stint in WWE, so that should please the management team in AAA quite a bit.

On May 24, 2015, AAA is holding another Lucha Libre World Cup live event in Mexico. TNA is going to have a presence there, as one of the teams competing in the tournament will be represented by that company. As of right now, Matt Hardy is the only performer that is confirmed for the team. However, management should be able to finalize deals soon to round out the rest of the unit. The two companies maintain a good working relationship.

Last month, photos surfaced of Shane Helms being at an Impact Wrestling taping. Rumors spread like wildfire at the time, but no one knew of the details. Matt Hardy revealed some of that during a recent interview. He stated that TNA was in need of more agents and producers, so they asked him for recommendations. He immediately told them about Helms, who is off the shelf as an in ring performer because of a torn ACL suffered in December.

While they certainly do not have plans on rushing things, it appears that OMEGA is in good hands and is looking to expand as a promotion. Jeff Hardy revealed in an interview how excited he was to be working on a project that he and Matt Hardy started when they were just teenagers. He also alluded to the fact that Shane Helms is the guy that is running things behind the scenes. Their live events have been massively popular and successful.
