WWE conducted a poll, asking fans if they felt that Big E Langston would some day be a world heavyweight champion. Thus far, 70% of the voters feel that the current Intercontinental Champion will move up to the main event scene eventually.

Mason Ryan
It did not take long for Mason Ryan to find work. Days after being released from his developmental contract with WWE, he has now been signed to work a match for Pro Wrestling Syndicate in New Jersey in June. No word on what his future plans are, but there are rumors that he could attempt to be picked up by either TNA or Global Force Wrestling.

It looks like the rumors about a fourth member of the Shield is out the window, as WWE has opted to release Mason Ryan instead. The muscular wrestler was supposed to have been called up to the main roster to join Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, but WWE changed their mind about splitting Roman Reigns from the stable. Ryan was signed back in 2009.

There was a WWE NXT taping this week, and fans at the event voiced their displeasure with Batista, even though the performer was not on location. They cheered on Mason Ryan, stating that he was better than Batista. Then, they mocked Bo Dallas, chanting that he was worse than Batista. This should help expedite that heel turn a bit.

Over the weekend, several wrestlers, including Chris Jericho, Howar Finkel, Jim Ross, MVP, Diamond Dallas Page, Mason Ryan, Chavo Guerrero, Michelle McCool, Vickie Guerrero, JBL and others, noted the passing of Frank Bullock, a WWE employee who did audio for the company. He had been battling cancer before his death.

The decision to release Mason Ryan was not an easy one within WWE. He was very well liked backstage, as he showed an ability to control his ego by being humble and seeking advice from veterans. Ryan also had a tremendous look, which is something that the company has long preferred. WWE simply did not feel that Ryan was improving as much as they were hoping he would.

There are still those backstage that are pushing for the Shield to remain together, even when Roman Reigns is split off and pushed as a singles star. Some are concerned that Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose could be lost in the shuffle without Reigns around. There were talks previously of bringing Mason Ryan up as a replacement member, but no word on whether WWE is still planning to do this.

One of the reasons why Jason Jordan and Mason Ryan are being phased out as a tag team is because WWE wants the latter to be utilized as a singles wrestler again, in preparations of being called up to the main roster. The idea of him joining Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins as a replacement for Roman Reigns is still on the table.

In a sign of how badly the company wants to see him becoming a star, it has now been close to two whole years since Mason Ryan was sent back down to WWE NXT for further developmental work. His last televised appearance with the main roster was back in April of 2012 in a match against Dolph Ziggler. Ryan is expected to be given another chance around Wrestlemania 30.

While WWE wants to rush the Roman Reigns push, it does not appear that his rumored replacement, Mason Ryan, will be showing up before Wrestlemania 30. The split may still take place before the big event, but the new addition will be saved for afterwards.

They stated that he was hospitalized and will be back with the company soon. While reports are saying that their contract with Spike TV is expiring at the end of the year, executives in TNA are still making moves as if they are definitely going to remain on television. The company has now booked the Manhattan Center in New York City for three more episodes of Impact Wrestling. It appears that Dixie Carter is extremely confident that they will be signing a deal somewhere.

Through his Twitter account, Ryback revealed to fans that it has now been 18 days since his surgery, and he has been recovering extremely well from his still unknown injury, which is rumored to involve his groin. He should be making a return to WWE very soon, as he is now pain free. He might not be rushed back, though, as management really doesn't have a story ready for him.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Ric Flair had to be pulled from the WWE NXT show. The exact reason has now been discovered. The former world heavyweight champion was in the hospital this week for some minor surgeries. No word yet on what those procedures were for, but none of it was life threatening. Flair is expected to be back with WWE after he recovers.

While the future of Impact Wrestling is in question because a deal with Spike TV cannot be reached, TNA is still continuing to churn forward. The company is filming a new television show called TNA Legends, and it is being hosted by Jeremy Borash, who is seemingly the most versatile person backstage. When he finally signed a developmental contract with WWE, many fans were under the impression that Kenta Kobayashi might be one of the rare exceptions who get to keep using their names. However, management opted against that and changed his name to Hideo Itami. The reason fro WWE doing this is because they want to be able to own the rights to the name in case he becomes a big star and leaves someday.

Earlier this week, wrestling fans were stunned to find out that Sean OHaire had committed suicide by hanging himself. TMZ has now revealed that he did try to get help over the last six years. It is being reported that OHaire attended rehab six times, and they were all paid for by WWE. Unfortunately, though, his addiction to alcohol became too much to overcome.

It has now been revealed that WWE pays their developmental wrestlers approximately $25000 a year. There's usually a two or three year commitment involved as well. An established guy like Kenta Kobayashi may be receiving a higher salary, however. The average amount is definitely less than what some of these guys with name value can make on the independent wrestling circuit.

Originally, Ric Flair was scheduled to make an appearance at WWE NXT tonight at the Takeover 2 event. The former world heavyweight champion was supposed to introduce Kenta Kobayashi to the fans as a way to accelerate the fan support for the Japanese star. However, it has now been revealed that Flair has canceled on the appearance due to some sort of personal issue.

During a recent interview, Sami Zayn revealed that Antonio Cesaro actually made the request to management to go down to WWE NXT and work there. Zayn explained that the motive behind the move was to let certain people backstage see what he was capable of since it is harder to get the spotlight on Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. According to Zayn, Triple H was really impressed with what he saw in Cesaro.

Some unfortunate news for wrestling fans tonight. The rumors of Sean O'Haire being dead are true. Several performers, including Tyler Reks, Lance Storm and Scotty Riggs, have no confirmed the death and expressed condolences towards their former colleague. The former WWE and WCW star was just 43 years of age. His cause of death are not immediately known.

During a recent interview, Vince Russo bashed Spike TV a bit because he felt that they did not do enough to promote Impact Wrestling for TNA. David Schwarz, who happens to be the Senior Vice President of Communications for the network, decided to respond by saying that Spike has helped to finance a lot of the moves by TNA. He also noted that Impact Wrestling was given a prime 2 hour spot on Thursday night. The most interesting comment, however, is that Schwarz flat out stated that no one at Spike cares whatsoever about Russo.
