While there are still plans by WWE to push him, Big E Langston has essentially been neglected by the creative department over the last couple of weeks because the writers simply have not come up with anything for his character to do with Mark Henry being off television.
Since the company wanted to sell the brutality of Brock Lesnar for his match against Big Show at Royal Rumble 2014, they had Mark Henry work an injury angle and take a couple of weeks off. It looks the former world champion is returning to WWE, possibly as soon as Monday Night Raw this week.
Since he intends to retire after his current contract expires, Mark Henry has started looking at career opportunities within the company. The former World Heavyweight Champion has expressed interest in having his own show on the new WWE Network.
It looks like Mark Henry will be skipping the Royal Rumble this year, as WWE has written him out of the story line, in order to sell the beating from Brock Lesnar on Monday Night Raw this week. The story line states that he has a broken elbow from the attack.
While all signs are pointing to him working a match against Mark Henry at the Royal Rumble, there are still talks about putting Brock Lesnar with the Big Show, who is expected back on Monday Night Raw next week, at the pay per view.
