There were those backstage that were actually hoping that Goldust would be able to return in time to team up with his little brother. The belief was that the bizarre tandem would help intrigue the mainstream media attention that Amell is surely to bring.

She stated that she has received little to no response from management in regards to the matter. By quickly cutting ties with Hogan, they managed to cushion the blow a bit. While management will never admit it, the belief was that the company was internally worried that the Michael Hayes situation would come back to light in the mainstream media.

Management has to be quite pleased with this situation.

Many are attributing that to the return of Brock Lesnar, which was widely mentioned through social media by the internet wrestling community. A few are giving credit to Machine Gun Kelly, who is a mainstream name.
