The longtime wrestling fan, though, proved everyone wrong. He did much better than expected. The Arrow star received praised from both the people backstage and the mainstream media.

In a sign that he is still relevant to the mainstream audience, Jake Roberts has revealed that his documentary will be released in theaters. It will not be a nationwide release, however. Only certain markets will be showing the film. That is still considered a huge victory, as independent films have a hard time getting aired in theaters that normally prefer movies from the big studios.

The brothers delivered super kicks to an eight year old kid recently, and that was mentioned by both Fox Sports and TMZ. The articles were in good nature, as they focused more on someone so young being able to sell so well.

Goldust joining Stardust

WWE announced this week that Stephen Amell would team up with Adrian Neville to take on Stardust and Wade Barrett at Summerslam. There were those backstage that were actually hoping that Goldust would be able to return in time to team up with his little brother. The belief was that the bizarre tandem would help intrigue the mainstream media attention that Amell is surely to bring.

While management will never admit it, the belief was that the company was internally worried that the Michael Hayes situation would come back to light in the mainstream media.

Initially, when word spread that Roddy Piper had died, the mainstream media stated that it was due to natural causes. Those reports have now been updated. The former United States Heavyweight Champion actually passed away in his sleep because of a heart attack. His family members reiterated that the legendary performer was free of cancer at the time of his death.

In what might prove to be a brilliant marketing move, GFW appears to be setting up a match between Phil Baroni and Chael Sonnen, both of whom achieved stardom in UFC. A match like this would easily generate interest from the mainstream media, especially all the major sports outlet. Baroni has been training at a wrestling school owned by D-Lo Brown.

While some fans are emotionally acting out against WWE for being so quick to fire Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, who happens to be a good friend of Hogan, defended Vince McMahon for his decision. He mentioned that a publicly traded company has to be sensitive towards their fans, investors, advertisers, board members, mainstream media and others. It was a necessary move to make.
