WWE received some criticism from the fans last night because they did not put more of an emphasis on their tribute to Mae Young, whose death last week saddened the wrestling world. More feathers will be ruffled, as management has opted to remove the video completely from the Hulu broadcast of Monday Night Raw.
"Once again, HONORED to be included in the Mae Young tribute video tonight on Monday Night Raw. So much respect for her and proud to be in same ring."
- Bully Ray
While WWE has been paying tribute to Mae Young, who died earlier in the week, at live events by showing a special video, Natalya Neidhart has decided to take it one step further, by dedicating her victories over AJ Lee at the live events to the hall of fame performer.
"Very embarrassed that Oklahoma media have ignored Mae Young's passing. It's appalling. Someone do their homework. Pro wrestling bias?"
Now that the legendary performer has passed away, people will be given one final chance to say goodbye to Mae Young. Visitation is being held this upcoming Tuesday at the Dunbar Funeral Home in Columbia, South Carolina, and the funeral itself is being held the following day at the same location.
"Rest in peace, Mae Young. You're truly an inspiration to us all. It was an honor to have met you. You will be missed."
"When I ran into the duo at shows, Moolah would always remember me from our catering convos, and in the middle of talking Mae Young would go, 'Now which one are you again?' in that shaky voice to which Moolah would say, 'Oh Mae Hush Up' to which we would all share a laugh."
"I'm just grateful for the moments I got to spend with her. Both Moolah and Mae were an important part of my life in WWE, especially in my first couple years in the company as they were my biggest cheerleaders. They were always encouraging me and telling me they liked how I didn't 'wrestle like a girl'. She was an inspiration to me and so many of the girls in the locker room. I used to tell her 'Mae, I want to be just like you when I grow up'. I'm going to miss her a lot."
It was revealed earlier in the week that TNA had signed Alpha Female, a wrestler who is known in Europe. Management has decided to pair her up with Chris Sabin, who recently broke up with Velvet Sky on screen. The relationship is designed to be a focal story line point for the Knockouts division.
TNA taped the hall of fame induction ceremony for Kurt Angle at Impact Wrestling today. After delivering an emotional speech, Ethan Carter interrupted the segment, which led to a match between the two at TNA Lockdown being announced.
While there are some fans who are under the impression that he has really left the compny, Jeff Hardy will be returning to the company in March. He has already been announced for TNA Lockdown 2014, where is scheduled to be a part of the Lethal Lockdown match.
There will be a Lethal Lockdown match at TNA Lockdown 2014 this year. Team Dixie will consists of Ethan Carter, Bobby Roode, James Storm and Rockstar Spud. They will face Team MVP, which will include MVP, Gunner, Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards.
After weeks of teasing the move, the James Storm heel turn has finally happened. Impact Wrestling is being taped right now, and the long time TNA star turned on Gunner as he was challenging Brutus Magnus for the world heavyweight championship.
Many are wondering who will be the first opponent for MVP in TNA will be, and it looks like Rockstar Spud has been given that honor. Earlier today, the two of them filmed a match for the episode of Impact Wrestling set to air on February 13.
