A memorial was held in honor of Perro Aguayo this week. He passed away after an accident in the ring during a match. Konnan, who was the first person to check on Aguayo after the incident, was there in person. Rey Mysterio, however, was not. The belief is that he felt that his presence would be a distraction and might actually upset a couple of people who blame him for the death. Mysterio is currently heading overseas for wrestling show.

Walemania was the place to be this week if you were hoping to see a lot of wrestlers in the same place. Rey Mysterio made his first public appearance since the tragic Perro Aguayo incident. His buddy Konnan was there with him. The two of them were heavily advertised to be there. Three guys who were not scheduled to be there were Scott Hall, MVP and Samoa Joe, who all decided to simply pop up at the event and party with one another.

By now, most people have seen the video of Perro Aguayo dying in the ring during a match involving Rey Mysterio. A select few have started blaming Konnan for repeatedly shaking Aguayo as he laid motionless on the mat. Others, however, have been defending him by stating that the former WCW star was under the impression that Aguayo was simply knocked out. To his credit, he rushed immediately to check on the fallen star.

While his actual funeral will be held later this week in Guadalajara, there have been a couple of ceremonies already held to honor the passing of Perro Aguayo. Konnan was one of the first people on the scene of the tragic incident, and he led a small tribute during the latest Lucha Underground taping in Los Angeles. Several promotions in Mexico have reportedly done a little tribute to Aguayo at their shows as well.

When it was announced that Rey Mysterio was returning to wrestle in Mexico, everyone knew that it was going to be an eventful moment. Just not this type of eventfulness. El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, whose real name is Pedro Aguayo Ramirez, reportedly took a dropkick to the trachea and slumped to the ropes. Konnan unsuccessfully tried to revive him backstage. Local news reports in indicate he died shortly after midnight.

Back when Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn decided to leave WCW for WWE, they tried to leave the door open for others to follow them. Guerrero actually went up to Triple H and suggested that the company bring in Konnan because he feels that there are plenty of stories that the two of them can do together. The idea was brought to Vince McMahon, and he reportedly turned it down because of the previous run.

While many people might not even notice it, Rey Mysterio will bringing back the "Jr" part to his in ring name. The reason for that is because he wants to avoid getting into a legal issue with WWE, who reportedly still own the rights to the moniker. Konnan has been functioning as his business manager, and he has been informing promoters to use the modified name in their advertising material to avoid causing any headaches.

The recently released WWE star decided to go with someone that he views as a brother. Konnan is reportedly the person in charge of managing the booking for Mysterio. He is the one setting him up at shows across the globe.

The belief is that Mysterio might end up discussing his departure from the company and the ugly contract situation.
