In a rather interesting move, Rey Mysterio has been crowned the new Destiny Heavyweight Champion. He captured the title in a triple threat match in Ontario that also featured former WWE star Justin Gabriel. In case you didn't know, the promoter for this company is Santino Marella, another former World Wrestling Entertainment performer as well. This means that Mysterio will be heading back to Canada more frequently this year.

In discussing the possibility, the high flyer takes a little jab at his previous employer by stating that you sometimes need to give performers a chance to prove what they can do. Gabriel feels that he will be given that chance with Global Force Wrestling.

The high flyer revealed in a recent interview that Triple H was rather upset with him for giving his notice via telephone. Gabriel claims that he was told that he would have to wait for ages if he ever wanted to come back, which he has no plans on doing at the moment.

Now that he is no longer with the company, Justin Gabriel is free to speak his mind about his tenure with WWE. He noted that he was frustrated for approximately three years. Management simply refused to notice and acknowledged the effort that he put out in order to get a push. Gabriel even stated that he took the initiative to go work down in NXT to develop his character more. When the boiling point hit, he simply asked for a release.

During a recent interview, Justin Gabriel revealed that he came with an idea for Vince McMahon to be the person underneath the bunny suit. He would be a bit more hardcore and even chase the heavyweight championship. Then, one day, the bunny is knocked out and revealed to be McMahon. Gabriel stated that everyone in the creative department loved the idea when he pitched it, but management opted against going through with it.

The main reason why Justin Gabriel decided to walk away from WWE was because he wanted to be able to perform more frequently in front of fans. He still had a passion for the industry, but grown frustrated because he was basically a filler guy for the company. He now gets his chance to show his magic in the ring again. Gabriel has signed a contract with GFW and will be part of the roster that will be touring later on this summer.
