While doing a podcast interview with Chris Jericho, JTG revealed that they were initially fired because Shad Gaspard messed around with the referee during a match. Management was livid about the incident, with then backstage agent Barry Windham yelling at them. Afterwards, John Cena started admonishing Cryme Tyme as well because he knew that it would ruin the push that they were receiving.

However, to prevent backstage heat from veteran performers and executives, he decided to tell people in WWE that the initials stood for "just too gangsta", which fits in with the Cryme Tyme gimmick that he had.

While promoting his new book, JTG agreed to do an interview recently, and he was asked about how black performers were treated in WWE. He stated that the creative department needed to have more diversity among the writers because they simply cannot come up with up to date characters and gimmicks for black performers. He feels that is a market that is severely neglected.

During a recent interview, JTG took a jab at Triple H by stating that WWE would be a whole lot better if he were capable of putting his ego aside. He brought up Zack Ryder as an example. The former Cryme Tyme member stated that HHH was never a fan of Ryder, even though he did everything possible to put himself over. Ryder was someone that the company definitely could have capitalized on because he had a large following.

One of the main topics that he will discuss will be backstage heat, which was the rumored reason as to why management decided to punish the former member of Cryme Time. For those that have forgotten, he was one of the more vocal performers when they were receiving smaller Wrestlemania bonuses.
