John Cena winning

While a lot of WWE fans are overjoyed right now about the Brock Lesnar news, they are about to be brought back down to earth for a bit when they realize that the new contract means that John Cena has a better chance of winning the United States Heavyweight Championship from Rusev at Wrestlemania. Since Lesnar will still be part time, the front office wanted a belt on Cena, so that he can use it to headline live events each week.

Brock Lesnar winning

There are talks coming out of WWE right now that if Brock Lesnar were to sign a new contract to remain with the company, then he would be rewarded with a victory over Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. He would still be allowed to work the limited schedule that he has been on while continuing to carry the heavyweight championship. Management would then put the IC and US belt on Daniel Bryan and John Cena respectively so they can headline live events.

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Rusev brought out a lawyer to help him get out of defending the United States Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania against John Cena. Well, Vince McMahon was not a fan of the guy. He was so irate backstage that he fed JBL some lines on the commentating booth to bury the acting skills of the performer. It is being said that WWE auditioned people at the arena for the role.

There are speculations going around that Lana might not be in attendance at Wrestlemania. She is currently working a television angle where Rusev is upset with her for caving in to John Cena and agreeing to a United States Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania. In real life, the blonde beauty is actually taking some time off the road so that she can film a movie with Edge. She is expected back at the big pay per view.

Lana shooting movie

On the latest episode of Smackdown, Lana did not appear by the side of Rusev, who is upset with his companion because she gave into the threat by John Cena and agreed to a United States Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. She was also not with him at live events over the weekend. The belief is that the gorgeous Russian valet is going to be kept off of television until the big pay per view. She is currently filming a movie with Edge.

Rusev losing US title

In order to push him higher up the ladder, WWE will eventually be required to take the United States Heavyweight Championship off of Rusev. However, people backstage do not want to see John Cena picking up the strap because it would seem like a demotion for his character. An idea being tossed around backstage is to have Cena helping another wrestler, such as Jack Swagger or Curtis Axel, win the belt from the Russian sympathizer.

While the widespread assumption is that John Cena will get his revenge at Wrestlemania by handing Rusev his first loss in WWE, management might be going in a different direction. There are talks that the creative department are seriously considering giving the Russian sympathizer a huge amount of momentum by having him beat Cena for two consecutive pay per view events. He would then be thrust into the heavyweight championship scene.

It was not love at first sight when it comes to Vince McMahon and John Cena. The former WWE Heavyweight Champion revealed during an interview that the CEO was actually disgusted with the way that he Cena looked when they first met. McMahon ordered Cena to cut his long hair and remove the blonde dye. Cena stated that since he really wanted his dream job to come true, he immediately got the hair cut upon leaving the meeting.

Cena vs Rusev at Fast Lane

In the sixth match at Fast Lane, Rusev was successfully able to defend the United States Heavyweight Championship against John Cena via submission. The champion delivered a low blow when the referee was distracted by Lana. That enabled him to get the big kick to Cena, who was essentially knocked out before being placed in the Accolade. Better than expected match, and the ending left room for a rematch at Wrestlemania.
