Wrestlemania is basically considered the end of the season for WWE, so the front office likes to bring up some fresh faces from NXT to replenish the roster after the big pay per view. Speculations are already surfacing. A potential name on the chopping block is Big E Langston. He is an underrated performer, but management has already placed the glass ceiling over him, it seems. Not even a recommendation from John Cena was enough to help give him a push.

In order to push him higher up the ladder, WWE will eventually be required to take the United States Heavyweight Championship off of Rusev. However, people backstage do not want to see John Cena picking up the strap because it would seem like a demotion for his character. An idea being tossed around backstage is to have Cena helping another wrestler, such as Jack Swagger or Curtis Axel, win the belt from the Russian sympathizer.

It's something that a lot of fans have long been begging for, but WWE is finally going to slowly start replacing John Cena as the top star in the company. He would step into the Bruno Sammartino role, while Roman Reigns will step into the Bob Backlund role. For those that do not know about that particular part of wrestling history, Backlund was pushed by the company as the hot new thing even though Sammartino was still the biggest draw.

For those of you that are under the assumption that John Cena has or uses a lot of stroke backstage, take a look at Big E Langston. The former pushed really hard for WWE to give the latter a chance in the main event scene. Management gave Langston a brief push, but it was not sustained. Nor did it take him that far up the ladder. He is essentially lost in the shuffle as a filler wrestler now. Cena does not play the political game as much as former stars did.

While the plans for his major push are still in place, there is reportedly a growing number of people backstage in WWE that are doubting Roman Reigns and his ability to carry the company. They desperately need someone else besides John Cena to carry the burden, but Reigns is not showing as much improvement as management had hoped for. There's a certain standard that the company wants for their main event guys, and he's not there yet.

When Ryback made his return to WWE not too long ago, many were surprised that he was given a pretty good push by management. Many were under the belief that he was going to be pushed back into the main event again after spending a good amount of time on the under card. However, rumors are now floating around that the big guy was only being built up, so that Rusev could have someone to work against before moving up to work a program with John Cena.
