There is a great deal of speculation within the internet wrestling community right now about the status of John Cena in the near future. For whatever reasons, WWE omitted the United States Heavyweight Champion from their advertisement for live events and episodes of Monday Night Raw for the next couple of weeks. That has led people to believe that he is going to be off the road for a while.

Despite suffering some sort of injury a couple of days earlier, John Cena continued to work matches at the live events over the weekend. The former world heavyweight champion has a history of working through injuries as much as he possibly can because he genuinely does not want to disappoint the paying audience. It also saves WWE from having to offer refunds to fans who paid to see Cena.

Since he is still the top draw in the company, WWE collectively gasps whenever John Cena gets hurt or appears to get hurt. Over the weekend, the former world heavyweight champion worked a match against Kevin Owens at a live event. While performing his modified sunset flip, he appeared to have suffered some sort of injury. Reports are saying that it could be a neck or nose injury. Cena managed to finish the match.

As a sign of how much of a draw that he remains despite not being in the main event scene, WWE offered fans in Australia a refund since John Cena could not work the live event. Management studies the numbers, so they know that there is a good amount of wrestling fans who attend their shows to see the United States Heavyweight Champion in action.

In a sign that his broken nose injury might be a lot more serious than the internet wrestling community believes, John Cena has not only been pulled from live events and telvision, the United States Heavyweight Champion has also been removed from the upcoming tour of Australia. That is a pretty serious move because WWE knows that Cena is quite the draw in that country.

Despite reports earlier this week that WWE had dropped him considerably down the ladder, Kevin Owens still worked the main event at a live event with John Cena in what was said to be a very excellent match. That is a sign that the front office still has some faith in him to be able to draw in an audience. We will have to wait and see what happens on television, however.

John Cena busted nose

Over the weekend, John Cena worked a live event in Louisiana. While delivering the Attitude Adjustment to Wade Barrett, his nose ended up being busted. The United States Heavyweight Champion grabbed a towel immediately after the match. He then got on the microphone to let the fans know about his injury. Despite the damage done to his face, the belief is that Cena will still be more than willing to work Money in the Bank.

Kevin Owens pulled

In a rather interesting development, WWE has decided to pull Kevin Owens from the upcoming series of live events. The NXT Heavyweight Champion was initially scheduled to work matches against John Cena at these shows. Since he has been pulled, the front office decided to add Wade Barrett as a replacement. He will more than likely work the matches against Cena. No word yet on why Owens was pulled for the weekend.

Elimination Chamber changes

There are rumors floating around that Vince McMahon abruptly put together the Elimination Chamber, as a way to boost the amount of WWE Network subscribers. Further fuel was added to the fire because management opted to reschedule a live event that was taking place on the same day. John Cena and Rusev were originally scheduled to be approximately 1100 miles away from the pay per view, so the changes were necessary.

WWE live event changes

Fans attending WWE live events this upcoming weekend might be in for a bit of disappointment if they were looking forward to see John Cena and Randy Orton. The two of them have been pulled from the road. Management is going to try to supplement the show by having Seth Rollins defending the heavyweight championship against Roman Reigns on one tour. The other will be headlined by Rusev, Dean Ambrose and Ryback.
