Undertaker not a draw

Through FOX Sports, Jim Ross revealed a rather interesting story about Ole Anderson. Back when Undertaker was wrestling in WCW, his contract was coming to an end. Ross felt that the deal should have been renewed and tried to convince Anderson to make it happen. However, Anderson told Ross that he felt that Undertaker would never be a draw and doubted his future in the business.

During a podcast interview with Jim Ross, Abyss revealed some details about how close he came to signing with WWE back in 2006. John Laurinaitis had an offer on the table, but he backed out of the deal at the very last minute because he did not want to leave TNA after spending so many years there. Abyss also revealed to Ross that there were plans for him to feud with Undertaker and work a big match together at Wrestlemania.

Upon finding out that Buff Bagwell blames him for his failed run in WWE, Jim Ross issued a response. First and foremost, he is not going to bother to listen to the actual comments that were made by Bagwell. Secondly, Ross reminded Bagwell that he was simply the messenger at the time. Whenever someone gets fired from the company, the orders usually come from someone above him.

Buff Bagwell blames Jim Ross

After WCW folded, Buff Bagwell was one of the guys whose contract was picked up by WWE. His stint there did not go well. Things apparently went downhill whenever Bagwell was involved in a backstage altercation with Shane Helms. Bagwell required 20 stitches from the fight and was sent home. When he called Jim Ross back, Bagwell felt that he received the cold shoulders, so he blames Ross for his failure in the company.

At the end of Hell in a Cell, the Wyatt Family came out and kidnapped the Undertaker after his match against Brock Lesnar. Jim Ross was critical of that finish. The legendary commentator felt that WWE missed an opportunity to elevate a younger performer by having him come out to try to save the heavily respected Undertaker. Ross also feels that JBL and Jerry Lawler should have made an attempt to help as well.

Word has come out that his source within the industry was actually Jim Ross. When asked about this, the legendary WWE commentator stated that he did provide some insider information to Apter. However, he trusted that Apter was respectful enough to the business to know what to publish.

The legendary commentator stated that he does not agree with the idea of having Rollins constantly losing on television. Jim Ross took to his online blog to educate these particular fans. He essentially told them to lower their hopes by not putting too much burden on Bryan. He is not going to be able to save the ratings by himself. It has to be a collective effort by WWE.

Matt Striker doing New Japan

On October 12, 2015, New Japan is doing their annual King of Pro Wrestling pay per view, and they have enlisted the aid of Matt Striker to do English commentary. Management has been putting more effort into reaching a potentially huge fan base in the United States. They tried that recently with their partnership with Jeff Jarrett and Jim Ross. The belief is that the heavily underrated Striker was chosen over Ross because his rate is not nearly as high.
