Jerry Lawler wrestling

Despite being 65 years old and having a heart attack recently, Jerry Lawler is getting back into the wrestling ring. The event is taking place on May 23 in Memphis. Despite it being done to raise money for the Mid South Coliseum, many are surprised that WWE would even clear such a thing. To make matters worse, Lawler is taking on Bill Dundee, who happens to be 71 years old. Many have been pleading with Lawler to retire as a wrestler.

Byron Saxton backstage heat

When Vince McMahon hates you, your future in WWE does not seem very bright. Byron Saxton might not be around for much longer, it seems. McMahon was said to be furious backstage when Saxton was sent out to do commentary on Monday Night Raw alone. Many felt that this was his opportunity to grab the brass ring, and Saxton failed. It got so bad that McMahon had to send Jerry Lawler out there to breathe life into the commentating team.

Michael Cole injured

To further sell the kayfabe injury suffered by Michael Cole at the hands of Brock Lesnar during Monday Night Raw, WWE has decided to keep the announcer off of the commentating table for the next episode of Smackdown. The on air explanation is that he needs surgery. Tom Phillips is replacing him and will join Jerry Lawler and Byron Saxton at the booth. No confirmation yet, but the belief is that Cole will be back for Monday Night Raw.

Jim Ross resentment

During an interview this week, Jim Ross gave fans a little bit of a nugget. He revealed that there is a good amount of resentment towards him from the current group of broadcasters in WWE. Majority of that is not his fault, as guys like Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, JBL and Booker T have grown tired of hearing fans complaining about their work on social media and demanding that Ross be brought back into the company and give his old job back.

Eva Marie replacing Lawler

While WWE has since decided to change back to their original plans, there is some merit to the idea of Eva Marie replacing Jerry Lawler. There was a strong push by certain individuals backstage for well over a month now to do a youth movement. By having someone as attractive as Eva as the host, the feeling is that it would make the hall of fame ceremony more of a draw for Wrestemania. The change could still take place next year.

Jerry Lawler hosting

The internet wrestling community went into outrage yesterday when it was reported that Eva Marie would be replacing Jerry Lawler as the host of the hall of fame ceremony. WWE heard the complaints. Lawler himself stated that the rumors are not true, but there is speculation running around that the front office decided to cancel the change because of the negative reactions on social media. Management wanted to go with a younger host.

Eva Marie hosting

For whatever reasons, WWE has decided to replace Jerry Lawler with Eva Marie as the host of the hall of fame ceremony that is taking place at Wrestlemania. That has led to immediate backlash from the online wrestling community. Many voiced their opinions on social media that the red haired diva should not be hosting the event because they do not feel that she is worthy of the honor. A lot of them want Lawler back as the host.

Paige tattoo

Apparently, Paige wants to get some ink on her body. She revealed that during the latest episode of Total Divas. When she informed Jerry Lawler of her desires, he gave his disapproval. The former WWE Divas Champion is trying to get approval from management to get a big tattoo on her arm or chest, but it is highly unlikely that she will be allowed to do that. Aside from licensing issues, Vince McMahon is said to not be a fan of tattoos.

Smackdown announcers

Even though the change was made this month, there are already rumblings that we could be seeing another change in the form of the Smackdown announcers. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are safe in their positions, but there are rumors that WWE isn't completely sold on Byron Saxton just yet. Fortunately for him, there are people backstage who love his personality, so he will have some in his corner when push comes to shove.
