The thing is, you can be a big star anyplace else in the world. That gets you in the door. What you do once you get here is a whole different ballgame. LeiD Tapa
When LeiD Tapa was released by TNA back in March, there were rumors that she might be a candidate to join the WWE developmental program. However, the company has shown very little interest thus far. In fact, she has not even been invited for a tryout yet. While some are citing her lack of experience, which she is trying to fix by working with OVW, many are pointing out that WWE has had no qualms with signing female performers who have absolutely no experience in the wrestling industry before.

Scott Hall
While a lot of independent wrestlers are hoping for just a chance to do a tryout with WWE, Cody Hall is on the other side of the fence. The son of Scott Hall has turned down the company several times, stating that he does not want to join their developmental program until he establishes himself on the indies and internationally. Hall wants to achieve things on his own merit.

Names like Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt and Kenta Kobayashi have surfaced as potential candidates to join the company later on this year. While the possibility looked bleak initially, it appears that WWE is set to sign Kevin Steen to a developmental contract. Optimism for his signing was not very high after he received a tryout with the company. The industry was a bit shocked recently when it was announced that Kobayashi was leaving Pro Wrestling NOAH, his longtime home. The belief is that he no longer wants to work the physically demanding style in Japan.

Jack Swagger
"I had met Jim Ross and Jerry Brisco before I was even in college and they always told me to get your degree first and then we'll give you a shot if you want to come try your hand with the WWE. I graduated in May 2006, flew out to Atlanta for a week to tryout, and by July 2006 I was signed and training in Atlanta. I took a little bit different path than most WWE superstars have taken. I'm one of the few superstars who have gone through all three of the developmental camps." - Jack Swagger reveals his path to the WWE developmental program

Davey Richards
"I never really wanted to go to WWE. The tryout there was awesome. It was really fun and I can't say enough good things and I learned a lot, but I told a few of the guys during the initial tryout with Eddie that this was not for me just because moving down to Orlando is not what I wanted to do and wrestling is not the only thing I want to do with my life. To give up everything and just live in that world is not my idea of a great life or a perfect life. TNA offered me to be able to wrestle with some of the best wrestlers in the world, I could be on television, I could go and entertain crowds but I could still come home and be Wes. I could be Davey, then I could be Wes. It was just better for me and I couldn't be happier in TNA it's been great." - Davey Richards on choosing TNA over WWE
