The internet wrestling community went into outrage yesterday when it was reported that Eva Marie would be replacing Jerry Lawler as the host of the hall of fame ceremony. WWE heard the complaints. Lawler himself stated that the rumors are not true, but there is speculation running around that the front office decided to cancel the change because of the negative reactions on social media. For whatever reasons, WWE has decided to replace Jerry Lawler with Eva Marie as the host of the hall of fame ceremony that is taking place at Wrestlemania. That has led to immediate backlash from the online wrestling community. A name that Jeff Jarrett would love to have attached to GFW is none other than Jerry Lawler. The two of them have a very long history together. They worked with one another in the Memphis territory decades ago. Lawler would bring instant credibility to the promotion if he were one of the voices at the commenting table. Jarrett will more than likely contact Lawler, but it is highly unlikely that a contract will be offered at this point.

Apparently, Paige wants to get some ink on her body. She revealed that during the latest episode of Total Divas. When she informed Jerry Lawler of her desires, he gave his disapproval. The former WWE Divas Champion is trying to get approval from management to get a big tattoo on her arm or chest, but it is highly unlikely that she will be allowed to do that. Aside from licensing issues, Vince McMahon is said to not be a fan of tattoos.

Some interesting allegations recently sprung up during an interview with Austin Idol, a legendary figure from the Memphis territory days. He claims that at one point in time, Jerry Lawler refused to work with Randy Savage because the former was afraid of actually being hurt by the latter. According to Idol, Savage was actually blacklisted by several promoters across the country because of unusual and unspecified behavior by the Macho Man.

Even though the change was made this month, there are already rumblings that we could be seeing another change in the form of the Smackdown announcers. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are safe in their positions, but there are rumors that WWE isn't completely sold on Byron Saxton just yet. Fortunately for him, there are people backstage who love his personality, so he will have some in his corner when push comes to shove.

When the company decided to move him from the Monday Night Raw commentating table to Smackdown's lesser watched crew, it became clear to observant people that Jerry Lawler was being demoted by WWE. His job security, though, remains fairly high. He still has name value and a good amount of fans. Plus, management is afraid that another wresting promotion will sign Lawler and team him up with Jim Ross.

While many still believe that the widely perceived demotion was due to the fact that the company has been trying to phase him out of the product completely, WWE has been trying to spin the move of Jerry Lawler from the Monday Night Raw commentating team to Smackdown as something positive. The company has been telling people that the move was done because they wanted to close the gap between the two shows.

Yesterday, WWE announced that Jerry Lawler had been removed from the commentating team on Monday Night Raw and moved over to the Smackdown crew. Many immediately believed that the move was done in response to his recent hospital stay for diverticulitis. However, reports are surfacing that management has long been wanting to do this move. They simply could not do it because of the public reaction to his heart attack.

In a surprising bit of news, Jerry Lawler has now been permanently removed as the color commentator of Monday Night Raw. Many had been under the impression that his absence was temporary and that he would return once he recovered from his stay at the hospital. However, WWE opted to make the switch to Booker T a permanent one. Lawler will still be working for the company, but as a commentator on Smackdown.
