GFW signs Chris Sabin

Since he is one of the best performers on the independent wrestling circuit, many were under the belief that Jeff Jarrett was going to try to get Chris Sabin under contract once GFW started. Well, apparently, those rumors are true. The promotion has now signed the former world heavyweight champion, and he will more than likely be taking part in the upcoming summer tour. No word yet on what his status with ROH will be now.

GFW signs Chael Sonnen

In addition to what he brings as a talker who is passionate about professional wrestling, one of the biggest reasons why GFW brought in Chael Sonnen as an announcer is because they are hoping that his name value from his UFC career would be an asset in their negotiations with a network. Jeff Jarrett has meticulously carved out a plan so that his Global Force Wrestling could get a television contract for the weekly taping that he is planning.

A lot of fans are under the impression that Charlie Haas is completely retired form professional wrestling. However, the former WWE star does work the occasion match on the independent wrestling circuit. He just doesn't make a big deal out of it. There are now rumors floating around the Jeff Jarrett might be able to convince Haas to become a more active performer after he revealed that GFW had signed Shelton Benjamin to a contract.

Shelton Benjamin to GFW

Late in 2014, rumors surfaced that Shelton Benjamin was going to make a return to WWE because the company filed for a trademark to his name. It turns out that it was simply for merchandising reason. Well, good news if you've been wanting Benjamin back in the United States. He has now been signed to a contract by GFW and should be a part of that summer tour. Jeff Jarrett has been building himself quite the roster.

Even though the two promotions are on amicable terms, Dixie Carter does not want her contracted performers to work for Jeff Jarrett on their days off. Right now, TNA has a policy that enables them to work for another promotion, provided they are not utilized on television. Things could automatically work out for Carter, however, because it appears that GFW is on track to get a television contract with an unannounced network very soon.

GFW tour plans

For much of the past year, Jeff Jarrett has focused on acquiring a television contract for GFW. However, it is being said that he put a lot of effort into the live event side of the business. The reason is because he might be able to convince a network to give him a chance if he can prove that his product can generate interest and draw in the fans. A solid result from the tour could also generate a decent amount of revenue for Global Force Wrestling.

Generally, companies don't like when rival promotions butt into their affairs. However, ROH really did not have much of an option when Jeff Jarrett started recruiting Quinn Ojinnaka about joining GFW. After all, his contract was expiring next month, and there was a good chance that Ring of Honor was going to lose him to someone else. Despite being inexperienced still, Ojinnaka has improved enough to generate interest from WWE.

Rosita to GFW

While it was something that was speculated upon for quite some time now, it has now been confirmed that GFW will have a female division. Jeff Jarrett announced at a press conference in Las Vegas earlier today that Rosita has been signed to a contract. The former TNA Knockout had been trying to get a deal with WWE for much of the past year, but nothing came to fruition. She now gets another chance to show her talents to the world.

Killer Elite Squad to GFW

Getting one of the top tag teams in New Japan was not enough for Jeff Jarrett. He went out and signed another one. Lance Hoyt and Davey Boy Smith Jr have both signed a contract with GFW. They will be a regular part of the roster, while also continuing to do tours of Japan. That way, they can maintain their international name value. While the two of them did not find a lot of success in WWE, they have established themselves as stars overseas.

An official press conference has been scheduled by Jeff Jarrett in Las Vegas this week. He is expected to reveal more details about the television taping that he will be doing in the city during the month of July. There is already speculation that he could be announcing a television network contract for GFW. Things appear to be moving along rather well, as reports have now surfaced that Jarrett is starting to sell tickets earlier than expected.
