While many within WWE, including JBL, are pushing for him to be called up to the main roster soon, management currently does not have any plans of bringing Adrian Neville up from the developmental program just yet. The plan is to keep him in NXT until at least Wrestlemania.

JBL

"Adrian Neville. Not a doubt in my mind. I think he's just phenomenal. I don't know about his promo skills as I haven't seen them as much, but he's a guy who could go out there and perform on any card, anywhere in the world and be a help to that card. I would love to see him up in the WWE. He'll be there I just don't know the time frame."

Alberto Del Rio
A day before the company is expected to eliminate a lot of jobs, WWE has come to terms on the release of Ricardo Rodriguez, who stated that the decision belonged to him. The former manager of Alberto Del Rio reiterated that he wanted to be an in ring performer again. Rodriguez had been training in developmental in hopes that management would finally give him a chance. When that opportunity appeared dismal, he opted to move on to the next chapter of his career.

Tensai
With his in ring career fully behind him now, Tensai has been slowly gaining power backstage in WWE. He impressed management with his ability to function as a color commentator. Now, he has convinced them to let him have a bigger part in the company by training the developmental wrestlers. WWE likes the fact that Tensai has worked overseas and is familiar with a lot of different styles of wrestling.

Prince Devitt
Over the last couple of months, there have been plenty of rumors in regards to WWE signing international star Prince Devitt to a contract. Things heated up even more when he left New Japan. Things died down a bit when no announcement was made, but it looks like the rumor mills are heating up again. Reports are surfacing that the deal has now been reached, and he should be showing up to developmental soon.

CM Punk
One the things that made Kenta Kobayashi so famous in Japan was his diverse moves set. Unfortunately, though, a lot of his signature maneuvers cannot e utilized in WWE. His Go 2 Sleep finisher is commonly associated with CM Punk nowadays. His knee finisher and submission move are both being used by Daniel Bryan. The belief is that WWE will have him come up with new moves in developmental.
July 20, 2014
Kenta Kobayashi
Triple H might be downplaying his arrival to the developmental program, but Kenta Kobayashi is far from a regular new performer joining WWE. Internally, he is being viewed as a major marketing asset as the company is hoping to expand its reaches in Japan. A television network has already agreed to air WWE NXT since Kobayashi will be featured on those shows. The Japanese star is also set to help promote the WWE Network when it expands overseas.
July 17, 2014
Kevin Steen
While he has already said his farewell to Ring of Honor fans, Kevin Steen is reportedly not under contract to WWE just yet. Word has it that he has yet to complete the medical testing that the company requires all new performers to undergo before signing a deal. If there are any lingering injuries, then there is a chance that Steen might not be picked up by the WWE developmental program.
July 16, 2014
Kenta Kobayashi
Even though he had already established himself as one of the top performers overseas, Kenta Kobayashi is actually being sent to the developmental program by WWE. Management wants him to change up his style a bit and adopt the slower pace style that the company prefers. No word yet on how long Kobayashi will be required to stay down at the WWE Performance Center.
July 12, 2014
LeiD Tapa
When LeiD Tapa was released by TNA back in March, there were rumors that she might be a candidate to join the WWE developmental program. However, the company has shown very little interest thus far. In fact, she has not even been invited for a tryout yet. While some are citing her lack of experience, which she is trying to fix by working with OVW, many are pointing out that WWE has had no qualms with signing female performers who have absolutely no experience in the wrestling industry before.
July 8, 2014
Adam Rose
Many were under the impression that WWE was not interested in signing Rosita, as nothing took place after she did tryouts with the company. However, there are rumors floating around that management might have had a change of heart. Many see her appearances as an entourage of Adam Rose recently as a sign that WWE will be offering her a developmental contract soon.

Vince McMahon
After suffering a massive drop a couple of weeks ago, WWE stock started rising this past week. Many within the company attribute that to the release of several wrestlers. Rumors are circulating that a lot of developmental wrestlers will be released soon.

Tyson Kidd
Even though the mask has been designed and ordered, it looks like Tyson Kidd might not be doing that gimmick after all. However, others are against the idea and want him to remain in WWE NXT to work with the developmental wrestlers.
June 12, 2014
Yoshi Tatsu
While there is some sadness to every release today, the departure of Yoshi Tatsu has to be bothering several people left in WWE. He was well liked backstage, as he never got involved in any of the political stuff in the locker room. Tatsu kept a positive attitude since being removed from the main roster. He put in a lot of time and effort into improving himself in developmental, so he could get another chance to work Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. Unfortunately, though, it was not enough for WWE.
June 12, 2014
Brodus Clay
After being robbed of an opportunity work a match at Wrestlemania 29, Brodus Clay focused his energy on trying to ensure that he was not going to miss Wrestlemania 30. WWE was not pleased with him telling the fans about his angst about being removed from the card at the last minute, so he was demoted to the developmental program. Today, Clay received his release from the company.

June 11, 2014

Cody Rhodes
"It actually came from a joke. Cody Rhodes likes to tell a story that when he was a little kid he used to watch me wrestle. I'm slightly older than Cody, we're talking three years or something like that, but in his head I'm a really old man. I once walked into the locker room and he was telling the entire locker room that when he was a kid he was watching me wrestling as this character he made up named 'Bad News Barrett' who goes around giving out bad news to people. So we all laughed about it and forgot about it. Then I was invited on the JBL and Cole show and they said they wanted to use me on the show and asked if I had any ideas of what to do. So I said you know what, let's just do Bad News Barrett. I'll just turn up and give people bad news and then disappear. I got a really good response online and fans were loving the catch phrase 'I'm afraid I've got some bad news' and Vince McMahon saw it and thought it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. Next thing you know I'm on TV doing it." - Wade Barrett explaining how his new gimmick in WWE came ot be

The commentator kept it hidden for much of the broadcast.

Ron Simmons
"There is a lot of truth to that, absolutely. There were guys that came there from other organizations that perhaps they thought they should just skip everybody else and skip right to the top and have things right away the way they wanted. I mean, hey, there are rules and things that you have to abide by as far as this business goes. and you have to respect those. But, when you don't respect those, then hey, we have got a problem. So, yes, we had a lot of guys who came in with that attitude, and John and I would have to be called upon to let them know 'hey, that is not how it works here'." - Ron Simmons on how he and JBL handled backstage politics in WWE
