During a podcast interview with Chris Jericho, Batista revealed that he has some lingering backstage heat towards Vince McMahon over an incident that happened a couple of years ago. The former world heavyweight champion was fined $100,000 by WWE because he purposely cut himself during a match to draw blood. Batista felt that the amount was unfairly high, and he noted that was the day when he knew that things would never be the same with WWE.

During a recent podcast interview with Jim Ross, Kurt Angle confirmed the longstanding rumors that he and Brock Lesnar got into a backstage fight when both were with WWE. Angle stated that he initiated the brawl with Lesnar because Lesnar was telling the other wrestlers that Angle was too small for him to wrestle. The incident was more of an amateur wrestling match than a fist fight.

The decision is noteworthy because he is still scheduled to team up with the Great Muta as a baby face team during Bound For Glory 2014 in a match against James Storm and Seiya Sanada. In the first match, Samoa Joe, Low Ki and former WCW star Kaz Hayashi will be battling in a triple threat match for the X Division Championship. Seiya Sanada will be teaming with his new on screen mentor James Storm to take on his real life mentor Great Muta and Tajiri.

Dixie Carter and company have been forced to allow performers to leave whenever their contracts expire because they need to become fiscally responsible if they wish to remain in business. Rumor has it that only Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Bully Ray, Samoa Joe, Abyss, James Storm, Bobby Roode and Mr Anderson have big salaries.

Word has now come out that the former world heavyweight champion will be teaming up with MVP to take on Ethan Carter and Brutus Magnus. In a bloody I Quit match at TNA Sacrifice 2014, Gunner was able to force James Storm into calling off the match by breaking off a big shard of glass and threatening to jam it into the head of his former tag team partner. A very bloody Gunner refused to quit, even though he took quite the beating.

The hope would be that James Storm and Bobby Roode can remain relevant while carrying the tag team division once again. James Storm has been booked to be the headliner, and he will be going up against former TNA star Chase Stevens. At TNA Lockdown 2014, James Storm and Gunner put on a tremendous show inside of the steel cage. While they were both praised backstage for the match itself, both are receiving individual praises as well. James Storm is being lauded for making his opponent look like a million bucks, while Gunner is receiving words of encouragement because he is starting to look like a star.

In a crowd pleasing segment at TNA Lockdown 2014, Gunner was able to secure one of the biggest wins of his career by defeating James Storm in a Last Man Standing match after Storm was unable to get back up from a superplex through two steel chairs.

The feeling within TNA is that his southern gimmick would be quite the draw for fans in Texas.
