A name that has popped up in discussions backstage in WWE is Scott Hall. Management wants another big name performer to join Ultimate Warrior and Jake Roberts at the hall of fame cermony during Wrestlemania 30. The move would also enable WWE to promote their wellness program.
It wasn't long after the official announcement of Jake Roberts being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at Wrestlemania 30 that rumors surfaced who about who will be tasked with inducting the legendary performer. The first and most obvious name to spring up was Diamond Dallas Page, who helped Roberts turn his life around.
While he still hopes to work the Royal Rumble later on this month, Jake Roberts has been pushing for WWE to let him work a program with Bray Wyatt, either as an opponent or as a mentor. No word yet on whether officials are interested in the idea at this time.
The feeling backstage during the Old School episode of Monday Night Raw was that Jake Roberts was a shoo-in to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during Wrestlemania 30 weekend now that he has re-established a relationship with management.
"Then finally when I signed my deal deal, my very first deal, they also paid all of my college fees as a bonus. I think I owed like 40 grand, which they didn't have to do, I always felt was very, very cool of JR to do. He was like we're going to take care of your college, by the way. I was like oh, because that had been hanging over my head while I had been trying to just get somewhere and make it. I was like oh, man. I got this 40 grand that's over my head and I'm making 50 bucks on this show. Cool, now I'm making 210, but that's not going to chip away at 40 grand. So they took care of that when I signed my deal."
