Later on in July, WWE is planning on doing a quick tour of Japan, and they were hoping to bring along Hideo Itami for a couple of crowd pleasing matches. Unfortunately, though, a shoulder injury is going to rob everyone of the chance to see that happening. However, management is still going to be bringing Itami along for the ride, as they feel that a special guest appearance is better than nothing. He has been heavily involved in promoting the shows.

In a sign that WWE is going to push him, Wade Barrett was given the King of the Ring victory over Adrian Neville tonight. Plans must have been changed backstage recently because he was initially booked to put over Daniel Bryan at Extreme Rules a week ago. The absence of Bryan itself may have led to the change in decisions. The front office also did a good job of protecting Neville in the match by making it seem like he had a rib injury.

While fans waited until the day of the pay per view to find out, WWE had actually made the decision to remove Daniel Bryan from Extreme Rules on Friday. The belief is that management opted against revealing that immediately because they wanted interest on the show to remain as high as possible. Many were looking forward to seeing Bryan work the event because that would mean that his injury was not as severe as initially believed.

In yet another sign of how much of a company guy that he is, John Cena revealed that he has been working this past week with a fever. That has not prevented him from working matches for WWE and working out hard at the gym. The feeling is that he will not take time away from the road unless he is suffering from a major injury. Cena worked the tour of Europe despite receiving a pretty serious eye injury during a match with Cody Rhodes.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Daniel Bryan had actually suffered a concussion. That is in addition to his neck not holding up properly. WWE, however, is denying the rumors. They stated that the former world heavyweight champion did not suffer a concussion. They are not denying that some sort of injury was suffered, though. The company simply is opting to keep that a secret, in the hopes that they can downplay the seriousness of it all.

Reports have now surfaced that Daniel Bryan was sent home because he suffered a concussion while working a match against Sheamus on an episode of Smackdown during the tour of Europe. WWE officials were not completely aware of the injury, so they allowed him to keep working shows. Upon finding out, they decided to send him back to the United States early, which is a good thing because his neck has not been at 100% yet.

When it was initially reported that Lilian Garcia had suffered a knee injury, there were not a lot of details available. All we knew was that she needed surgery and was going to be taking a break from WWE for rehabilitation. On Thursday night, NXT made their debut at Martin Luther King Jr Recreation Center in Gainesville, Florida. The packed house was treated to a little surprise return. Mojo Rowley has finally come back from his injury. He was out for several months. The belief is that he will receive a nice push in developmental because the big wigs in WWE still believe that he has potential to some day be the top star on the main roster.

When WWE started the first part of their tour of Europe, Tamina Snuka was nowhere to be found. That led to speculations that she was not quite ready to make a return from injury just yet. Tamina appears to be just fine, as she showed up for the second half of the tour. She has been working live events and should be back on television shortly afterwards. No word yet on why she was absent during the beginning half of the tour.
