Stephen Amell attributes some of that to the new followers that he received by doing a match at Summerslam for WWE. He took to social media to thank all of the professional wrestling fans that checked out his show. Amell seems genuinely grateful towards the industry.

Mysterio wins Destiny title

In a rather interesting move, Rey Mysterio has been crowned the new Destiny Heavyweight Champion. He captured the title in a triple threat match in Ontario that also featured former WWE star Justin Gabriel. In case you didn't know, the promoter for this company is Santino Marella, another former World Wrestling Entertainment performer as well. This means that Mysterio will be heading back to Canada more frequently this year.

Sammartino back surgery

The legendary Bruno Sammartino recently turned 80 years old, and his body is really feeling it. He is still recovering from a recent back surgery that was required because of a fall caused by his weakened knees. The former world heavyweight champion is said to be in good spirits, however. Sammartino is reportedly walking several miles a week, even though his legs are not completely healed, to keep up with his health.

Footage of Jimmy Snuka attending court in Allentown has surfaced online. As expected, he looked every bit as frail as reports have made him out to be. The WWE legend, however, was not carted in a wheelchair into the facilities. He walked on his own. His lawyers gave a public statement, saying that his client was not dreading the trial. He said that Snuka was actually looking forward to clearing his name.

Chyna in dispute

Yet another negative incident involving Chyna has surfaced. She is alleging that a promoter in the United Kingdom owes her money for an appearance that she made back in August. David Low, who ran the event, stated that the original agreement was that she earn her fee by signing autographs and keeping the money that the fans pay for the quick session. He also claims that is the agreement he has had with other wrestlers for years now.

During a podcast interview with Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff revealed that he had backstage heat with Lex Luger up until a year or two ago. He stated that the arrogant personality that Luger portrayed on camera was pretty close to what he was really like in real life. Bischoff hated working with him. He also resented Luger because of what happened with Miss Elizabeth, whom his wife was very close to.

Earlier in the year, the belief was that Kenny King had abruptly left TNA and returned to ROH. Well, the former X Division Champion has been announced as a participant in the World Title Series, which is where the promotion is going to crown their top champion in a couple of weeks. Reports have surfaced that King is working out a deal with both promotions that would allow him to wrestle simultaneously for them.

To add even further fuel to the fire about his upcoming deal with WWE, James Storm was spotted at the performance center earlier in the day. A photo surfaced on social media of a man that looks extremely like him at the venue. Reports have surfaced that Storm is looking to sign a contract that will enable him to be an in ring performer and a trainer for NXT. The veteran could be quite the valuable asset to the brand.
