Rey Mysterio appearances

There are rumors floating around right now that Rey Mysterio has booked himself some appearances outside of WWE. However, that is not true. The popular masked superstar has been thrown a bunch of offers from independent wrestling promoters, enough money for him to make a living off of. He, of course, is unable to accept any of those deals as long as he is contractually obligated to is current company. A release is being negotiated.

Tessa Blanchard tryout

Looks like those rumors about WWE having interest in Tessa Blanchard were true. The second generation star was one of 20 women that the company brought in for tryouts at the Performance Center last week. For those that do not know, she is the daughter of the legendary Tully Blanchard, who teamed with Arn Anderson, Ric Flair and Barry Windham in the Four Horsemen during the 1980s. She currently works on the independent circuit.

Matt Hardy appearances

Those that keep up with Matt Hardy already know that he is one of the busiest wrestlers in the world, as he is consistently being booked for various promotions on the independent circuit. He also works for TNA. Now that he is set to become a father for the very first time, rumors have sparked that he might want the stability that WWE can provide him. However, that is not the case because Hardy is making more money on the indies.

Sean Waltman at Royal Rumble

Some minor rumors sprung up during the week that Sean Waltman was going to be one of the mystery entrants at the Royal Rumble tonight, and some of that might have been spurned by the fact that his former DX stablemates, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, are working the show. However, Waltman is considered quite unlikely for the pay per view because he worked an independent wrestling show in North Carolina with Matt Hardy.

Austin Aries staying in TNA

Now that there is a new television contract in place, Austin Aries and TNA have agreed to terms on a new deal that will keep the former world heavyweight champion on the roster. There were rumors floating around that he was thinking about going back to the independent wrestling circuit, but Aries feels a bit more comfortable sticking with the company because they will now be featured on Destination America. Management is expected to sign more deals soon.
