While official numbers are not released since they are a privately held company, reports have surfaced that TNA offered James Storm 250 percent more than what WWE was offering him to work on the NXT brand. Rumors have it that World Wrestling Entertainment offered Storm less than $100,000 a year, which means that he has a six figure deal to become one of the centerpieces of Impact Wrestling for the time being.

Rumors about Jim Ross signing with TNA have been floating around since the legendary commentator was released by WWE. For whatever reasons, they heated up again this week. Ross felt compelled to address the issue via social media. He stated that the rumors were not true. Ross also added that Impact Wrestling already has a great announcing team so he is really not needed.

Promotions for the film have already begun, and TNA cleverly found themselves a window of opportunity. Management contacted Goldberg to see if he would be interested in showing up on Impact Wrestling to promote his movie.

When TNA decided to bring Shawn Hernandez back into the company, they asked him if he was contractually free from Lucha Underground. He insisted that he was, but that turned to not be true. Dixie Carter was contacted about the issue. To avoid a potential lawsuit, she decided to release Hernandez from the promotion and remove filmed footage from upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling.

Chris Hero was said to be there visiting with old friends, which is the adage more frequently used because no one wants to admit that they are in negotiations with a company. Dixie Carter announced via social media that the legendary Texas wrestling star is making another return to the company. He and his sons will be showing up on episodes of Impact Wrestling that are being taped in February. No further details have been released at the moment.

Well, things have now been made official, as a press release was issued earlier today. Mathews basically thanked the company for the opportunity, and he said it was an honor to replace a legend like Tenay.
