An interesting story line took place in New Japan this week. After AJ Styles lost to Hiroshi Tanahashi, the Bullet Club proceeded to attack Tanahashi. Jeff Jarrett, who was actually in town to sign a promotional contract with NJPW, made the save. However, when Scott D'Amore opened up the guitar case, it was painted with the Bullet Club sign. Jarrett then attacked Tanahashi before posing with the rest of the Bullet Club.

In a rather interesting bit of trivia, Hiroshi Tanahashi was able to gain popularity in Japan when he was literally stabbed in the back in 2002 by Hitomi Hara, a news reported that he once dated. Word spread through the country about the incident, which caused interest in his return to grow. New Japan capitalized on the publicity and helped him become a big star.
