With AJ Styles signing with WWE soon, a door has been opened for Kenny Omega, as New Japan executives have chosen him for a big push. Apparently, ROH wants a lot of international talent for their upcoming series of matches in Philadelphia and Toronto. In addition to Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada, the company has now secured the services of Tetsuya Naito. For those of you that do not remember, the veteran performer worked a couple of matches for TNA, including a handicap match against Kevin Nash on Impact Wrestling. No word yet on who he will be working with.

To help make those events even more special, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada will be featured on the card. No word yet on what matches they are being booked for, but the safe bet is that Ring of Honor will use their top stars against them.

In a rather interesting move, New Japan has decided to put their version of the Intercontinental Championship on Hiroshi Tanahashi. He recently filmed a match where he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura via pin fall to capture the title. The move is considered interesting because Tanahashi has held the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on seven different occasions. His legendary status elevates the championship a bit.

In a sign that he might not yet be ready to leave the country, AJ Styles was rewarded with another IWGP Heavyweight Championship reign by New Japan. At a recent event, he defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to recapture the belt. Tanahashi had defeated Styles last year to win the title. Styles and the Bullet Club are in line for a major push this year, as the promotion handed five championships to the heel stable in the very same night.
