While a lot of fans were under the impression that he would be on the receiving end of a contract release along with Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater has managed to survive and is still with WWE. Unfortunately, though, the company really does not have any plans for him at the moment. He's basically just a filler guy at live events, teaming up with various partners for the time being.

Since the company needs room for all the new stars that they are bringing up from the developmental program, WWE is expected to allow several of the veteran performers to leave the company soon. The belief is that Heath Slater will be allowed to walk once his contract expires. The 3MB member has expressed frustration backstage over not receiving a push.

Reports surfaced recently that he was not one of the names advertised for an upcoming tour of England, and that led to the speculation that the former world heavyweight champion was not going to have his contract renewed by the company because they are still in limbo over a television contract.

During a recent interview, Jim Ross revealed just how close Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin were in college. Ross was the one that recruited Lesnar into WWE, and when a contract was offered, Lesnar stated that he had a special stipulation he would like fulfilled. The two sides have reached an agreement to continue working together, so that the stories can be resolved. Reports have surfaced that Dixie Carter has been meeting with potential silent investors. In yet another sign that Batista might never return to WWE, the big guy is restructuring his contract with Marvel Studios. The company wants to pay him more money after the success of Guardians of the Galaxy. In addition to being signed for the sequel, Batista is also expected to be part of the cast of the third Avengers movie. With a whole lot more money in his pockets, the former world heavyweight champion may decide to retire from professional wrestling altogether.

It looks like AAA was able to put together a good enough contract on the table to lure in John Morrison after all. The former WWE star worked a match on the first taping for Lucha Underground. He worked against an international star named Ricochet, who used the name Prince Puma on the show. No word yet on how long of a deal that Morrison signed with AAA, but the belief is that he will be around for a couple of shows at least.

On Monday Night Raw, fans saw Rob Van Dam being pulled from a Beat the Clock match against Seth Rollins. He was replaced by Heath Slater, who got the surprising win, thanks to distractions from Dean Ambrose. It turns out that WWE did that because RVD is actually not cleared to wrestle. He is still recovering from an unknown injury. For what it's worth, it appears that he might be fine soon, as the former world heavyweight champion is scheduled to head to Australia for the tour.

However, it looks like he has been crossed off the list of candidates. Mahal noted that 3MB, which currently only consists of Heath Slater and Hornswoggle, was booked on a lot of events, so they felt that their job security was not a concern at the time. For those that are wondering about the fate of 3MB after Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre received their release from WWE earlier in the week, it appears that the company will keep Heath Slater and Hornswoggle together. The two of them worked a tag team match over the weekend at a WWE live event in Canada. The faced Diego and El Torito in a losing effort.

During the Extreme Rules 2014 kickoff match, El Torito defeated Hornswoggle. He picked up the pin fall victory after jumping off the top rope and driving Hornswoggle through the table. Miniature tables and ladders were utilized during the WeeLC match. Diego, Fernando, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre were all involved in the match.

Earlier in the year, it was hard to fathom that 3MB would be working a match at Wrestlemania 30 because Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal have been barely used by WWE in relevant roles. However, all three are now confirmed for the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal. The move should appease Slater a bit, as he has been growing a bit frustrated backstage.

Earlier in the week, we saw Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre hanging out with the band Tool, and now it has been revealed that longtime WWE announcer Justin Roberts will be introducing them on a show in March.
