While the entertainment company and the performer have yet to make an announcement or confirmation, the Winnipeg Sun is reporting that Chris Jericho will be returning to WWE on March 7, 2014, during a live event held at the MTS Centre.
While many are already aware that WWE is not planning on pushing Damien Sandow in the near future, it now looks like he's headed in the opposite direction actually. He only has one televised victory since the year started, and that was a win over Great Khali, a performer on the lower end of the card.
While a lot of fans are confused as to why he is still on the roster, WWE still views the Great Khali as a marketing asset. The company specifically made it a point to have him present during the Wrestlemania 31 press conference earlier this week.
Batista won Royal Rumble 2014 by eliminating Roman Reigns in the end. Other contestants during the match were Alberto Del Rio, Alexander Rusev, Antonio Cesaro, Big E Langston, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, El Torito, Erick Rowan, Fandango, Goldust, Great Khali, Jack Swagger, JBL, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Kane, Kevin Nash, Kofi Kingston, Luke Harper, R Truth, Rey Mysterio, Ryback, Seth Rollins, Sheamus and the Miz.
While he is no longer being pushed as a legitimate threat towards the main event scene, the Great Khali is pulling in a huge salary from WWE still. He is pulling in approximately $974,000 a year, which is mainly due to the fact that he is massively popular in India and generates interest from that market
John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Big Show, Fandango, Great Khali, R Truth, Bella Twins, Summer Rae, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H were all in attendance at the Wrestlemania 31 press conference in Santa Clara.
