Luke Harper without beard

Rumors have surfaced that there was a point in time where WWE considered the possibility of having Luke Harper be without his beard. It was most likely around the time where the creative department decided to split him apart from Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. Fortunately, the front office opted to not do the drastic gimmick change because it would have totally changed his character. A change in the future is still a possibility.

Justin Gabriel departure

For those of you that are critical towards Justin Gabriel for giving up on his career in WWE, it should be noted that he really tried hard to turn things around. He even came up with a new gimmick called Darewolf, a combination of a daredevil and a werewolf. Gabriel claims that Vince McMahon really liked the idea, but Triple H was the one that shot it down. Gabriel then tried working in NXT, but eventually realized his chance would never come.

Curtis Axel shirts

In case you have not been paying attention to his segments, Curtis Axel has a new shirt made, and it says "Axelmania" on the front. Word going around is that it is something that he came up with on his own. He even produced the shirts himself. The belief is that WWE is giving him some creative control over his character. Some are even saying that he created the gimmick of complaining about the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania.

Bad News Zone

Those that watched Smackdown this week have noticed that Wade Barrett has added a new wrinkle to gimmick. The WWE Intercontinental Champion has started doing a thing called the Bad News Zone, which is essentially a play on TMZ, the gossip website that routinely covers professional wrestling. There are talks that this could be a temporary thing, but as is usually the case with management, it all hinges upon the reaction from the audience.

Miz and Sandow split

Instead of continuing to milk one of the best gimmicks in all of professional wrestling, WWE has decided to pull the trigger on the split of the Miz and Damien Sandow. On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, we saw the former firing the latter as his stunt double but keeping him around as his personal assistant. The match between the two could take place as soon as Fast Lane, but there are some backstage wanting it to take place at Wrestlemania.

Royal Rumble dead

In a heartfelt letter on his social media account, Mick Foley expressed to fans on his concerns about the Royal Rumble slowly dying. The legendary performer stated that the pay per view is just starting to feel like a secondary show. He stated that WWE is making the same mistake with this show as they did with the Survivor Series, a formerly great gimmick event that has become basically just another show on the calendar.

Hornswoggle backstage

While he has not been used very frequently on television, Hornswoggle is usually backstage whenever WWE films Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. Many were under the impression that he had been sent home because he no longer was being utilized with the Miz and Damien Sandow, a gimmick that was viewed as being hilarious by many backstage. The Wisconsin native still works plenty of live events for the company.

Mr Anderson as Sting

In a move that would surely generate more interest and perhaps some backlash, there are rumors floating around that TNA is thinking about having Mr Anderson bringing back the gimmick where he impersonates Sting. The highly unlikely move would be a great way to steal some of the thunder that WWE will surely receive when they start promoting the WCW legend and his involvement at Wrestlemania in a couple of weeks.

Josh Mathews real name

An interesting point has been made about Josh Mathews being able to use the same moniker in TNA as he did in WWE. Generally, the latter corporation likes to copyright names and gimmicks that they come up with, so that they can control the capitalizing. The belief here is that management never bothered to file the paperwork to keep ownership of the handle. For those that do not know, the commentator's real name is Josh Lomberger.

Damien Sandow buried

Several people backstage in WWE have noted the irony in Damien Sandow becoming one of the hottest acts in the business. The gimmick of him being the stunt man for the Miz started because management wanted to bury him by having him be a comedic character that impersonated other wrestlers. Sandow impressed many within the company by committing to the character and figuring out how to make it succeed.
