Vince McMahon is still desperately wanting to boost the number of subscribers for the WWE Network, so he has decided to bring back one of the best gimmicks that his company has ever created. The King of the Ring tournament is making a comeback, and it is starting on the next episode of Monday Night Raw. The preliminary rounds will be held on television, but the semifinals and finals will be shown on Tuesday on their online video service.

In a bout that ended up being much more entertaining than expected, Roman Reigns defeated Big Show in a Last Man Standing match at Extreme Rules. They each hit very creative spots, which was a perfect fit for the type of gimmick that they were working. WWE fans actually started getting behind Reigns because they were so excited by what they were seeing. End came when Reigns hit a spear on Show from one announce table to the other.

In a rather surprising move, Dolph Ziggler picked up the win over Sheamus at Extreme Rules. However, we later found out what motive WWE had in putting together this match. Ziggler teased the audience for a couple of minutes by pulling up his trunks to expose his buttocks. He ended up receiving a low blow and was forced to kiss the ass of the Celtic Warrior. The goal was to generate more heel heat for the bully gimmick, and it worked.

When Dolph Ziggler posted a vague message that hinted of his impending departure from WWE, that created quite a buzz with fans. He decided to do it again on Sunday morning. Ziggler posted through social media that he has been given bad gimmicks by the company in the past (caddie and cheerleader), but he overcame that and found success. He hinted that Extreme Rules might be the last pay per view that he works for the company.

Before he started doing his gimmick of mimicking Miz, Damien Sandow had a character that was very similar to what Lanny Poffo used to do in WWE. Some fans were critical of that. During a recent interview, Poffo came to the defense of Sandow. He actually went out of his way to point out that Sandow was one of the nicest wrestlers he met during Wrestlemania week. Poffo said that Sandow did not steal his gimmick. He is fine with it.

Rumors have surfaced that there was a point in time where WWE considered the possibility of having Luke Harper be without his beard. It was most likely around the time where the creative department decided to split him apart from Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. Fortunately, the front office opted to not do the drastic gimmick change because it would have totally changed his character. A change in the future is still a possibility.

For those of you that are critical towards Justin Gabriel for giving up on his career in WWE, it should be noted that he really tried hard to turn things around. He even came up with a new gimmick called Darewolf, a combination of a daredevil and a werewolf. Gabriel claims that Vince McMahon really liked the idea, but Triple H was the one that shot it down. Gabriel then tried working in NXT, but eventually realized his chance would never come.

In case you have not been paying attention to his segments, Curtis Axel has a new shirt made, and it says "Axelmania" on the front. Word going around is that it is something that he came up with on his own. He even produced the shirts himself. The belief is that WWE is giving him some creative control over his character. Some are even saying that he created the gimmick of complaining about the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania.
