WWE Divas ladder match

Management is really interested in turning the feud between Paige and Charlotte into something really special. They pushed the envelope already by bringing up the late Reid Flair. Now, WWE is thinking about having the two female performers doing a ladder match for the Divas Championship. There are talks that gimmick match could be taking place as early as the TLC pay per view in December.

El Matadores new gimmick

There are rumors floating around that there are those within WWE that are pushing for Los Matadores to get their new gimmicks sooner than later. The feeling is that New Day is running out of opponents to work with. The three way feud with Lucha Dragons and the Usos is essentially a filler match for the upcoming TLC pay per view. A new opponent for the champions will be needed by January.

When Muhammed Hassan had to be removed from television after a controversial segment with Undertaker, Shawn Daivari was forced to sit on the sidelines. He revealed that Stephanie McMahon approached him shortly afterwards with a patriotic gimmick, where he would have been all about the United States. Daivari said that he was forced to turn it down because it simply would not have made sense for his character.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Tyler Breeze revealed some details about the origin of his character. He stated that he knew his real life persona was not something that would be marketing, so he needed a new gimmick. Breeze stated that he turned to Xavier Woods and gave him credit for creating his model persona. Breeze also mentioned that he considered a snowboarder character as well.

Damien Sandow making return

When the Hulk Hogan controversy erupted, Damien Sandow and Curtis Axel were indirectly punished because their characters could no longer be featured. Sandow is one of the more talented performers in WWE, and he was sitting on the sidelines. Management might be fixing that soon, as there are talks that Sandow could be given his original gimmick back so that he can be featured again.

Reverend Devon made money

Back when Devon was doing the reverend gimmick in WWE, he used to carry around a collection box. When asked about it during a recent podcast interview, the former tag team champion revealed that people were putting actual money into the container. Devon even stated that there was one night where he made more than $300. He even joked backstage that he would gladly trade in his contract with WWE for that.

Road Warriors vs Demolition

When asked if the Road Warriors were upset with Demolition for copying their gimmick, Animal stated that he was fine with it. He said that he was friends with both guys. Animal and Smash actually knew one another back in high school. The two of them were among a group of wrestlers that all grew up in Minnesota together. Animal also noted that they were the tougher looking team of the two.

Tyler Breeze using technology

A new wrinkle will be added to the Tyler Breeze character. During a recent interview, Breeze stated that if the creative department wanted more use of technology for a character, he would be the one to do it. Breeze even teased that he might incorporate a drone into his entrance routine. The former NXT star has already been praised by many for being the first to utilize the trendy selfie stick into his gimmick.

Bob Backlund turning heel

Back in 1984, Vince McMahon asked Bob Backlund to turn heel, even though Backlund was doing the All American Boy gimmick. Backlund refused to go along with the plans because he was concerned about his six year old daughter at the time. Backlund had heard from other wrestlers that their kids would have issues at school because other kids thought that their parents were really bad people.

Storm respects Austin

When James Storm made his debut in NXT, he did not bring beer out to the ring with him. That was something that he was well known for doing in TNA. The reason why he did not is because Storm respects Steve Austin. The two of them are friends in real life, so he did not want to do anything remotely close to being gimmick infringement. Austin is known for always having beer with him.
