I'm excited that they are broadcasting on television, but I can only hope and pray that Australia has the common sense to air it down here too. I'm dying for the opportunity to get to know Ring Of Honor a bit better, and the chance to have them on television here would be awesome.

It's on HDNet channel 306 on Directv and channel 362 on Dish Network (both in U.S.) and channel 275 on Star Choice (in Canada). Did any watch it? I head nothing but great things about ROH. I'm planning an downloading it soon so I guess I can write a little something about it.

Just finished watching it on youtube and I was impressed. The presentation overall was great. The 1...2...3 helped for a new watcher like myself and the history lessons.
The build to the main event was awesome,Jimmy Jacobs promo was gold, and the Black/Jacobs/Aries feud video. The main event was alright but I guess I could have gotten a little two hyped. I'm looking forward to this continuing though Only complaint would be to see some of the other guys on the show but hopefully we will in the comeing weeks and with all I've heard of ROH crowds I was expecting them to be a little less dead but it could have just been swearing being cut out or one of the announcers saying Ow that Hurt all of the time. Overall the show was a good watch but they could do a little better next week. |

It's on Youtube? I'm deffs checking it out tomorrow when I get home, then. I'm pretty sure Australia isn't going to bother with it (still hoping they do!), so Youtube will probably be my way of watching.

My god. That was incredible!
I also enjoyed the things like the 1-2-3 because it helped me learn (and remember the names of) the wrestlers. The Smacktalk I liked as well, it was a nice touch and helped you to be able to connect with the wrestlers on a slightly deeper level. The feel was professional yet at the same time still very low key, the fact that the spotlight is kept solely on the ring and the audience is cast into the background helps you to focus on what is going on in the ring (because in WWE and sometimes TNA, I have the problem that if there's an audience member doing stupid stuff in the background, I'm more inclined to watch them if I'm not enjoying the match). The wrestling itself was amazing too, great straight out wrestling with just the right amount of high risk, but not over doing it so that the focus is still on the ground wrestling aspect. Jimmy Jacobs vs Tyler Black was awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing where the feud is going from here. I agree with Gerissen, Jacobs' promo was awesome. This is the first time I've ever seen him perform in any way, shape or form, and I'm very impressed with him. While I can't judge completely, he seems comfortable on the mic and he's solid in the ring, he's got a sweet look going on, and it helps that he's quite easy on the eyes, too. ;) I'm very impressed indeed by ROH's debut. I would have liked to see a few more of their guys on television too, and to leave their champion off the debut show seemed a little bit strange, but I'm loving the characters and ROH's style. Just one question... Sami Callihan, is he the "new horror" or the "new whore?" I laughed when I heard him cause I thought he said whore, but it sounded like Dave said horror during his match. EDIT: I take that back... I didn't know Jacobs was in WSX. I just don't remember him. Well, you learn something new every day! |

Felt it was a decent first show, the attraction of seeing more of the roster in coming weeks will keep me watching for now and I'll make further judgements based on how their future shows and storylines turn out.
And to Avery, apparantly Nigel McGuinness was injured for the debut show, explaining why he wasn't there. Still I'd have thought they'd have used Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries, The Briscoes, Chris Hero or Claudio Castagnoli who are essentially their top stars. But I guess they wanted to show off their lesser known talent and keep fans looking forward to seeing those guys. (which has worked for me) Something else interesting I've just been reading up and it seems they've made quite a few signings... Colt Cabana and Jimmy Rave have recently returned. And D'Lo Brown has also recently signed. Things I'm looking forward to... seeing the above guys + Davey Richards, Eddie Kingston, Necro Butcher and El Generico in action. The Sweet & Sour Inc stable and some Larry Sweeney promos Whether they'll make more big name signings. I'm expecting to see Paul London and Val Venis and possibly Petey Williams heading to ROH. |

Ah, that explains Nigel, then. Thanks man.
Oo, I'm looking forward to seeing Jimmy Rave back, I saw one of his matches from ROH a few years back and I was blown away by how well he can play the heel. Made me upset with TNA for wasting him the way they did. You've got a point about holding off the more known stars, I'm excited to see those guys too (specially more of Austin), but the lesser known guys are awesome too! It'd be cool if ROH signed those three guys, I'd love to see them all back on televised wrestling. |
