Driver of The Week: Denny Hamlin
![]() he and Jimmie Johnson were fighting for the lead late in the race, but Hamlin took the lead and never looked back, he pretty much was the man in the final laps. he takes home the win at another track he considers a home track, since he a Virgina native. Jimmie Johnson finished second, but he keep gain ground on his lead in the standings. Johnson will not let his guard down until he wins the chase. he still got to go though Talladega, Texas, Phoenix, and Homestead-Miami and Talladega is usually a bad place for Jimmie, he didn't even finish at Talladega back in the spring. here's the recap, lap by lap, and results: Recap:http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news?...v=ap&type=lgns Lap By Lap:http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news?..._com&type=lgns Results:http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/sprin...ults?year=2009 and now the updated official standing after this past weekend: Camping World Truck Series:http://www.nascar.com/races/truck/20..._official.html Nationwide Series:http://www.nascar.com/races/bg/2009/..._official.html Sprint Cup Series:http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2009..._official.html next stop, Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, AL. the Nationwide Series however will be taking there last off week of the season as they will resume after that. the Camping World Truck series will be racing the Mountain Dew 250 on Halloween and the Sprint Cup will be racing in the seventh race in the chase, the Amp Energy 500. i'll keep you up to date, and don't forget Kyle Busch and Joey Logano guest host WWE Raw tonight.

Driver of the Week: Jamie McMurray
![]() don't call Jamie a lame-duck driver. he survived Talladega and broke his 85 race winless streak as he won the Amp Energy 500. he lead most of the late laps and pretty much stayed out of trouble, he avoided the two big ones late in the race. he pretty much reminded the teams looking for a new driver that he's still looking for a ride for 2010. he will be leaving Roush-Fenway racing after the year is over and the 26 team will shut down due to a new NASCAR rule that official goes in effect next year where the limits of cars owned by the same team must be 4 but Roush-Fenway owns 5 cars but must get rid of one car due to this rule next season. anyway Ryan Newman and Mark Martin went airborne in the big ones, Ryan was in the first (but smaller) at lap 183, which his car made a complete flip and landed on Kevin Harvick's car's hood and then continued to flip. when it stop, NASCAR called out the red flag, so they can flip the car back over on it's wheels, then they had to get the jars to cut the roof so Ryan can get out of his car, he wasn't hurt but he was stuck in. and then Mark Martin flipped in the second big one at lap 189, which occurred during a green-white checker's attempt which was a fail due to big one #2. Mark flipped but the car got back on it's wheels, but the race was over. a bunch of other cars were wrecked in both big ones, too many chasers invovoled, so i'll let the lap by lap link due it's job. also Jimmie Johnson maybe closer to a 4peat. he avoid both wrecks and went from 22nd to 6th place, which is where finished at. so Jimmie got more points added to his lead making it 181 point lead in the chase. here's the recap, lap by lap, results and big ones footage: Recap:http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news?...v=ap&type=lgns Lap by Lap:http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news?..._com&type=lgns Results:http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/sprin...ults?year=2009 Big One #1 Video:http://www.nascar.com/video/cup/2009...car/index.html Big One #2 Video:http://www.nascar.com/video/cup/2009...car/index.html and now the official points standings for both series that raced this weekend: Camping World Truck Series:http://www.nascar.com/races/truck/20..._official.html Sprint Cup Series:http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2009..._official.html the next stop is Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, TX for this weekends races, on Friday Night the Camping World Truck Series race in the WinStar World Casino 350, then on Saturday the Nationwide Series resumes from there last off week of the season when they race in the O'Reilly Challenge (the only NASCAR race outside of The Watkins Glen Sprint Cup race to not have the number of miles/laps in the race in the name.) which features the WWE Raw vs. SmackDown cars as seen on Raw last week. and Sunday the 8th race in the chase, the Dickies 500. with three races to go, it looks like Jimmie might clinch the Sprint Cup Championship at ether Texas or at Phoenix, i'll keep you up to date later this week.
