He just doesn't have it. Not on a main event level.

The only way he makes it is if he totally leaves the Hardy Boy image behind and come back with a totally different gimmick. Kind of like Stunning Steve turning into Stone Cold Steve austin.

Different moves, different mic style, different everything. Otherwise he's just Matt Hardy the mid card star getting older by the second and getting less durable by the week.

I think Matt Hardy has reached the level of what Shelton Benjamin has (yes, a slight reference to Shiki's article and mine ) in being someone who lost what he had and now is just being used to elevate younger talent.

The only two chances that he had at being in the main event was when Edge was the champion and when Jeff Hardy was the champion. Other than those two, there's not really a program where Matt Hardy can really draw with.

The crowd is behind Matt 100% in a majority of his matches (look at tonight's Superstars) but I feel that the tank in the Matt Hardy engine is down for maintenance. Lots of maintenance. After his surgeries and pushing himself to the very limit and literally exploding his intestines, Matt can't do too much now or he'd be bed ridden and/or out of commision for good. I have a strong feeling that Matt still isn't 100% recovered, not even 85% and its literally showing in his current matches.

Matt shouldn't have come back so soon, at least not the way he did. Creative dropped the ball completely with a perfect angle he could've used for his return and his "brother forgive me" act. Truth be told, his apology and Jeff forgiving him was totally half a$$ed. There was no emotion, there was no build, there was no tension at all. Did Wrestlemania happen for nothing? Was it forgotten how much these two hated eachother up until that point? Here's what should've went down:

- Matt Hardy comes back (surprise surprise) and things go down up until the point when Matt comes out and saves Jeff from getting mutilated again. But instead of Jeff accepting his help he rejects him and storms off.
- The following weeks Matt should've been literally on hands and knees to get Jeff to forgive him and slowly Jeff would finally give it.
- The day Jeff forgives him, should've been a day when Jeff foreshadows his demise in the company to the audience and thus passing the Hardy torch onto Matt, which would give him both motivation and reason to want to be World Champion now instead of jealous bitter rage.
- Jeff leaves and Matt remains, the revenge tale should've been longer than just 1 match. (They basically pulled what Gregory Helms tried to do when Matt went evil.)

If you remember "The Mattitude Era", his charactor seemed so developed with Shannon Moore and Crash backing him up.

Maybe they can bring that back as Mattitude V2.

V1 was designed as a mid card persona back when the mid card was still valuable to WWE.

Hiryuujin, WWE didn't drop the ball with Matt after Wrestlemania. They gave him everything he needed to move up. When it's all said and done the individual has to take what is given to him and use it to go to the next level. Matt Hardy simply cannot do that.

His health isn't the reason why he's not being pushed. There's more to it than that.

I think Matt just isn't Electrifying enough,he is too slow and moves around real sloppy, his moves he preforms are all dull and boring.

Lets face it he just isn't Entertaining?
