Default Dupree Defends Von Erich

Rene Dupree Defends Lacey Von Erich

Rene Dupree has stepped up to defend Lacey Von Erich from the verbal assault from former WWE star Sunny.

Through his official website, Dupree discusses the comments that Sunny (real name Tammy Lynn Sytch) have thrown against Von Erich, who recently made her debut in TNA as the newest member of the Beautiful People.

The comments have been extremely brutal and it paints Sunny as a very disrespectful person. She bashes Von Erich for being under skilled and undeserving. Sunny also takes shots at TNA for hiring a female performer that's not quite up to standards. The worst part of her rant thus far, though, was when Sunny insulted the memory of Kerry Von Erich by pointing out his drug issues and his suicide.

In Dupree's comments, he stated that he can respect Sunny for criticizing Von Erich. However, he does defend Von Erich because he understands what it's like to have grown up in the business (Dupree's father worked for Fritz Von Erich).

Dupree also believes that Sunny crossed the line with her comment about Kerry Von Erich. His sentiments are echoed by the majority of wrestling fans from around the world who also feel that Sunny should not have crossed that particular line.

Sunny has responded to Dupree's comments, but she also vowed to no longer discuss pro wrestling.

Closing Thoughts

Dupree is basically just saying what all of us feel.

I find it funny how she says she is done talking about wrestling when she started the problem in the first place....if you are going to start something, you finish it; she took a coward's way out. at first i thought dupree's entrance into this was highly appreciated but random but now knowing he has ties to the Von Erich family, I can see why.

Had no idea that Emile worked for Fritz. Tammy couldn't take the heat.

It's good to see Dupree defending the family (or a memeber of that family) who helped his family by giving them work. It's good that people have that type of respect for the fellow coworkers. He would know being the son of a wrestler. I just find Sunny's comments so wrong. After all she's been through, and the way fans have rallied behind her after what she went through to go and do this. For her to disrespect a family that has been through its tragedies, is just so low and despicable.

I tip my hat to Dupree for saying something. Tammy needs to apologize.

That's what I was going to say. I think there have got to be so many more wrestlers that think that Sunny's comments were in bad taste.

Anyone think that Sunny is just being bitter that her career is practically over?
