Here is an interesting bit of trivia on Nick Bockwinkel. Like a lot of professional wrestlers, he initially was hoping to become a professional football player. Unfortunately for the former AWA star, his gridiron dreams were ended when a severe knee injury forced the University of Oklahoma to take away his scholarship. Bockwinkel decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a professional wrestler.

While filming an interview segment for Oprah's Master Class, Dwayne Johnson revealed some further details about his battle with depression. He was having a hard time because his football career was not going as well as he had planned. Johnson didn't have the money to go out, so he just stayed home and cleaned the apartment. He was able to break out of the depression by choosing to enter the wrestling industry.

On Halloween night, Jerry Lawler was involved in a head on collision with another vehicle. After handing out cookies with his girlfriend, the hall of fame performer decided to go out for pizza before returning home to watch college football. As Lawler was legally making a left turn, another vehicle plowed into the front passenger side of his car. Lawler was fine, but his girlfriend ended up in the emergency room for four hours.

There is some sadness floating around the world of professional wrestling today. Eighteen years ago, we saw the untimely passing of Brian Pillman. He had a heart attack while staying in a hotel room in Minnesota. The former college football player was there to work a pay per view for WWE later on that night. Pillman was 35 years old at the time of his death.

There is some concern backstage in WWE over the return of Monday Night Football next week. The NFL has historically drawn away a good portion of professional wrestling fans when it returns to the air every fall. Wrestlers are said to be worried about the situation because Vince McMahon is not too worried about it. Nothing special is being planned to pique the interest of the audience.

While doing an interview to promote his upcoming Ballers television series, Dwayne Johnson revealed that at one point during the Attitude Era, there were plans in place for he and Ray Lewis to team up at Wrestlemania. Scheduling conflict prevented the NFL legend from being able to wrestle. Johnson and Lewis played college football together.
