TNA stars working elsewhere

In order to help their performers make more money each year, TNA has decided to modify the rule that prevents them from working in other promotions. In the past, special permission was granted for the wrestlers to work on cards promoted by Tommy Dreamer, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. Now, they are free to work internet pay per view events for smaller independent companies. ROH is still not an option for the wrestlers, however.

Tamina back with WWE

When WWE started the first part of their tour of Europe, Tamina Snuka was nowhere to be found. That led to speculations that she was not quite ready to make a return from injury just yet. Tamina appears to be just fine, as she showed up for the second half of the tour. She has been working live events and should be back on television shortly afterwards. No word yet on why she was absent during the beginning half of the tour.

NXT selling out

Triple H has to be beaming with pride backstage nowadays. His managerial style has turned NXT into quite the success. It is being said that tickets are selling extremely fast for the live events that he has been promoting. Things have gotten to the point where fans are being turned away at the door, which increases the anticipation even more for the next show. HHH has restored a lot of faith in people about the future of WWE being in good hands.

Shinsuke Nakamura to ROH

It is no secret that Daniel Bryan really wants to wrestle his good friend Shinsuke Nakamura at the next Wrestlemania. Well, his friend is coming to the United States to work, but it will not be for WWE. Nakamura has signed on to work a couple of live events for ROH. He will be doing four shows in Philadelphia and Toronto, along with several other stars from New Japan. The belief is that more overseas stars are headed for the show as well.

WWE on DirecTV

In a rather interesting move, DirecTV has been in negotiations with WWE to resume airing their pay per view events again. It makes very little sense for Vince McMahon to sign up for that again because he is now using that as a tool to get more subscribers for the Network. Plus, the buy rates were dropping at a pretty marginal scale regardless. While the financial gains would not be a lot, they are more than zero, so this could possibly happen.

WWE Network in Japan

In a rather interesting move, WWE is set to launch the Network in Japan. Many are wondering if the company will do well over there because the people of that country have not been really supportive of the product. Management had to rely on Hulk Hogan last time to draw in the audience to their last series of live events. Another thing to keep an eye on is whether or not their online video subscription service can outdraw the one by New Japan.

NXT marketing

One of the reasons why Vince McMahon is starting to become a big fan of NXT is the fact that the brand was able to sell out tickets to a live event without needing to promote the matches. That means that fans are simply showing up because they support the brand in whole. WWE live events usually reveal the main event matches that will be taking place on the card. This gives Triple H a bit more leverage when it comes to backstage politics.

Bandit Lites and GFW

One thing that we now know about GFW is that when they start doing live events, production is an area that they are not skipping out on. Bandit Lites has announced that they have formed a partnership with Jeff Jarrett to provide lighting for the shows. The company is a worldwide leader in event and concert lighting. Plus, they have headquarters in several other countries across the globe. Jarrett plans on doing his first show on July 24.

Hulk Hogan death threat

The issue between Scott Steiner and Hulk Hogan just keeps getting uglier. TMZ has now reported that an investigation has begun. There are allegations that Steiner threatened to kill Hogan during Wrestlemania week. While Steiner is brushing off the situation, security cameras at the airport do confirm that he approached Hogan's wife at the baggage claim area. Things got so bad that WWE actually banned Steiner from their events.

NXT tour plans

Success has a funny way of changing up your plans. Now that Triple H has proven that his NXT stars can draw fans to live events, the company has scrapped the plans of having them do shows at small venues that WWE normally avoids. Management is now looking for medium sized venues for their developmental stars. Another idea being tossed around is to do these shows on a Saturday night in the same town of the pay per view.
