There are plans within TNA right now to have Rockstar Spud and Ethan Carter working as a tag team. People backstage feel that the two of them work very well together and have a better chance of connecting with the audience if they were to work as a unit.
There are speculations that Antonio Cesaro and John Cena coudl be working a feud together in the near future, as the two stars were spotted working out together at the WWE Performance Center. Cesaro received a slight push from management this week by being added to the main event at Elimination Chamber 2014.
Since the company wants to show that they are willing to push different wrestlers, it looks like TNA will be elevating Ethan Carter pretty soon. Management wants to have him working with the big name stars on the roster, in order to give him more credibility.
TNA taped the hall of fame induction ceremony for Kurt Angle at Impact Wrestling today. After delivering an emotional speech, Ethan Carter interrupted the segment, which led to a match between the two at TNA Lockdown being announced.
There will be a Lethal Lockdown match at TNA Lockdown 2014 this year. Team Dixie will consists of Ethan Carter, Bobby Roode, James Storm and Rockstar Spud. They will face Team MVP, which will include MVP, Gunner, Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards.
As many already know, Yoshi Tatsu is no longer on the road, and he has not been utilized regularly at live events in quite some time. He has been doing some training down at the WWE Performance Center, and he's now also training developmental wrestlers as well.
Japanese star Kenta Kobayashi, the wrestler who made the Go 2 Sleep finisher internationally famous, could be signed to a developmental deal with WWE soon. He was recently spotted at the WWE Performance Center, where he was given a tryout by officials.
”There are quite a few trainers and classes. There are a lot of vultures flying around there who will take the move if they like it so I was careful. I just worked with the great trainers. At the performance center, there is a man there who is just great. Norman Smiley, he is a surgeon in the ring. It was incredible. I would love to say I could do The Big Wiggle so I am going to yeah, I can do the wiggle.”
While he has not been seen on television in quite some time, Yoshi Tatsu is still with WWE. The Japanese wrestler has been training with the company at the performance center. Tatsu has been working closely with Dusty Rhodes on improving himself as a character.
Tommy Dreamer will be working for TNA tonight when the company films their one night only Hardcore Justice pay per view in Massachusetts. The former ECW and WWE star will be taking on Ethan Carter in a tables match.
Sting's contract is set to expire at the end of the month, but the legendary performer has agreed to work a match against Ethan Carter in January, which has led many to believe that he might extend his deal with TNA another year.
Former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and Texas legend Terry Funk was recently brought in to work as a guest trainer at the WWE Performance Center.
"I saw that he had the work ethic to make it work. A lot of times it's just a matter of getting that opportunity. It's funny that the example of what he is and what Daniel Bryan is, goes against the grain of what the WWE is trying to do. It seems very rare that they take guys off the indies anymore. You know they've got the Performance Center and they want their wrestlers to start from there at the bottom. It's almost like they're trying to grow wrestlers in a petri dish and then you look at guys like Punk, Bryan and Antonio Cesaro who worked all over the world on the independent scene and it seems like they're doing well for themselves and making it in the WWE system despite not being brought up in the WWE system."
While visiting the performance center, DDP taught his unique brand of yoga to the various developmental wrestlers under contract with WWE.
Triple H and Bill DeMott extended an invitation to Diamond Dallas Page to visit the performance center, and the former WCW champion has decided to take them up on that offer.
