Things did not go exactly as planned for Ethan Carter on Impact Wrestling last night. The TNA star was busted open by an errant shot from a trash can. The belief is that he will not be missing any of the upcoming episodes, but he might just be used in segments instead.

Jerry Lawler
Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Jim Ross had to spend a night in the hospital, as the former WWE commentator had a bit of a health scare and his wife wanted to be safer than sorry. Ross revealed that a couple of people contacted him at the hospital to check up on him. Jerry Lawler and Steve Austin were two of them. The other was Vince McMahon, which was a little bit surprising as there have been rumors floating around for the last year that there is some backstage heat between the two.

Billy Gunn
Since the performers have a tendency to go all out during the biggest wrestling pay per view of the year, it should come as no surprise that there were several Wrestlemania 30 injuries. Rough night for WWE stars.
April 8, 2014

In a sign of how much things have changed backstage, Vince McMahon actually left Wrestlemania 30 before the main event took place. Normally, the CEO would be there until the very end, but he opted to ride in the ambulance with the Undertaker to the hospital. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were left in charge of the pay per view.

Eric Young
Prior to his injury, there were plans in place to have MVP winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Eric Young. Since the company needed a heel champion to be the antagonist against Kurt Angle and his new on screen authority role, the belt went to Bobby Lashley instead. There are talks that TNA could try to figure out how to transfer the belt over to MVP soon.
July 5, 2014
Kenny King
After being given some time off of television, where his character was serving a story line suspension, Bobby Roode made his much anticipated return to Impact Wrestling this week. With the odds stacked against him, Young put on a good effort, but in the end, Lashley proved to be too much. A spear and a pin ended the match.

Bobby Lashley

The winners of the respective matches between Samoa Joe, Bobby Lashley, Kenny King and Austin Aries will be challenging Young for the belt.

MVP
For those of you that do not watch Impact Wrestling on a regular basis, MVP has done a heel turn. The ridicule is more about how TNA went about with the story line of crowning him as champion.
April 19, 2014
Eric Young
Since he is now the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Eric Young is being given a bit of a gimmick change, as management wants to move him further away from the comedic character that he has portraying over the years. TNA wants fans to believe that Young is a credible champion. His Monster's Ball match against Abyss on Impact Wrestling was to aid that.
April 19, 2014
Jeff Jarrett
Rumors have it that another reason why TNA gave the world heavyweight championship to Eric Young was to keep him from joining Jeff Jarrett in Global Force Wrestling. Young and Jarrett have a long history together, and they remain on very good terms. Since he is a very good worker and well liked backstage, TNA would much rather he stay with them long term.
