Contrary to popular beliefs, Vince McMahon did not end up buying the rights to the promotion because he won a bidding war. McMahon simply ended up with the deal because Bischoff and Fusient Media backed off once the network stated there would be no time slot for wrestling. Bischoff had investors already lined up.

He specifically stated that Bischoff lied to him about every single thing. Hart feels that Bischoff screwed up big time because he did not use him as the centerpiece and top star of the promotion.

The former WWE champion is actually scheduled for an event with Eric Bischoff in Philadelphia on the same day of the Royal Rumble. The venue is just minutes away from the Wells Fargo Center, which means that Jericho would have plenty of time to get to the pay per view.

He stated that he did have contact with Jim Ross and Vince McMahon, but he did not like the way that the meeting went. McMahon still offered him a contract as a performer. The former world heavyweight champion then decided to contact Eric Bischoff and sign with WCW instead.
