Since Sin Cara is out with a shoulder injury, WWE needed someone for Kalisto to team with during the live events. Management opted to go with El Torito in that role. The two of them worked matches against Los Matadores. The belief is that World Wrestling Entertainment basically went with the choice that would give the children in the audience something to pop for. This tandem is unlikely to be permanent.

While there was some talk that he might be leaving the company after being dumped by Los Matadores on Monday Night Raw, we might not necessarily have seen the last of El Torito. As some of you may already know, Los Matadores are in line for a gimmick change, as management wants them to freshen up the tag team division a bit. In case you still cannot see that the Ascension are being demoted greatly by WWE, then take a look at the Wrestlemania card. Diego and Fernando have been rarely used over the last year. They only made sporadic appearances with El Torito.
