A very interesting and heartwarming story was shared by Brodus Clay recently. He stated that when he first started in the developmental program, he was insecure about having to wear trunks because he was so heavy. In order to alleviate those concerns, Dusty Rhodes showed up to work without his shirt on. Rhodes said that if he could do it, then Clay can as well.

During a recent interview, Terry Funk explained that while he loved wrestling Dusty Rhodes because the two of them were close friends, he loved it even more because he made more money with the American Dream than with any other wrestler that he worked with over the years. The two of them used to draw really good crowds throughout the south.

Throughout his years as being one of the top performers in the country, Dusty Rhodes formed friendships with several of the wrestlers in various territories. Legendary names like Hector Guerrero, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, Dory Funk Jr and even Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys were spotted at his funeral earlier today in Tampa.
