The former 3MB member has found a renewed sense of passion for the business. In addition to being rewarded with the Evolve championship, which he won from Kassius Ohno, McIntyre has been receiving praise from fans for some of intense promos that he has been cutting.

However, it looks like he has been crossed off the list of candidates. ONeil has now been penciled in as a permanent tag team with Heath Slater, who was left with nothing to do when WWE released Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre.

While a lot of fans were under the impression that he would be on the receiving end of a contract release along with Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater has managed to survive and is still with WWE. Unfortunately, though, the company really does not have any plans for him at the moment. He's basically just a filler guy at live events, teaming up with various partners for the time being.

During a recent interview, Jinder Mahal revealed that he was surprised by his WWE release. He stated that he and Drew McIntyre had no signs from management that they were on the bubble. Mahal noted that 3MB, which currently only consists of Heath Slater and Hornswoggle, was booked on a lot of events, so they felt that their job security was not a concern at the time. WWE, however, needed to cut cost.

The talented and underrated performer will now be forced to use a different name if he wishes to continue in the professional wrestling industry because WWE owns the trademark. The belief is that he will wrestle under his real name for the time being.

The two of them worked a tag team match over the weekend at a WWE live event in Canada. The faced Diego and El Torito in a losing effort.
