In the opening match of Wrestlemania, Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler, R Truth, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper in a ladder match to win the Intercontinental Championship. WWE expected a great performance here, and that is exactly what they got. Lots of good spots. Very high impact. The end saw Bryan and Ziggler trading stiff headbutts on top of the ladder before Bryan knocked out Ziggler.

For those of you that have not been attending live events lately, WWE is routinely running the angle where the Intercontinental Championship keeps getting stolen by the performers who will compete for the belt in a ladder match at Wrestlemania. Cody Rhodes worked a match against Goldust in Erie on Saturday. While that was going on, Dolph Ziggler ran out from the backstage area and stole the title. Story will continue on Monday Night Raw.

Wrestlemania is less than a month away, and WWE still has not figured out how they are going to use two performers who will eventually be inducted into the hall of fame some day. Kane and Big Show are without a match at this point in time. They were initially penciled in for some sort of tag team match against Dolph Ziggler and Ryback. However, Ziggler has already been added to the Intercontinental Championship ladder match.

In a move that shocks very few people, WWE has changed some of the plans for Wrestlemania again. Initially, Ryback was scheduled to work some sort of tag team match against The Authority with Dolph Ziggler and Luke Rowan. However, that has been scratched completely from the card. Ziggler is now going to be involved in the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship, while the Big Guy has officially been added to the battle royal.

We now know that ladders are going to play a part at Wrestlemania this year. WWE has officially announced that Wade Barrett is going to be defending the Intercontinental Championship at the pay per view in a ladder match. They also mentioned that it would be against multiple opponents. However, they failed to reveal which performers those will be. The assumption is Dean Ambrose, R Truth, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan.

Now that Fast Lane is over and done with, there are talks that WWE is leaning back towards having Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan working a match against one another at Wrestlemania. The belief is that management wants the card to have a truly well worked match since the main event features two power guys in Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Bryan and Ziggler should be given ample time to steal the show like they normally do.

In case you're wondering why the two of them have formed a tag team, Dolph Ziggler and Ryback are now penciled in for a match against Kane and Big Show at Wrestlemania. The constantly changing plans for the pay per view has removed Ziggler from a potential mat classic with Daniel Bryan, who is being eyed for the main event with Brock Lesnar. The Little Guy and the Big Guy will not be a permanent part of the tag team division, though.

Fan anticipation has grown for a potential show stealing match between Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler at Wrestlemania. However, WWE has tapped the breaks a bit on that idea. Management wants to keep Bryan free for the time being because some are getting cold feet about having Roman Reigns being in the main event. They want the freedom to be able to change it to a match between Bryan and Lesnar, which would appease fans even more.

While he does not have the backstage power to convince management to give him a sustained and serious run in the main event again, Daniel Bryan does still wield some stroke within WWE. Reports have surfaced that he was able to convince management that it would be better for everyone is he were to wrestle against Dolph Ziggler at Wrestlemania instead of Sheamus as originally planned. The match could steal the show.
