Based on all the moves that they have been making as of late, it seems that Dixie Carter and her company are hellbent on generating big numbers at these upcoming shows in New York City. TNA just announced that Jeff Hardy will be challenging Bobby Lashley for the world heavyweight championship at one of the shows. Both guys have name value thanks to their time in WWE.

Brock Lesnar
With Night of Champions 2014 being a crucial pay per view in terms of drawing in WWE Network subscribers, management is going to be stacking the deck a bit. They knew that they needed their two biggest draws in the main event. That's why it has now been officially announced that John Cena has activated his rematch clause against Brock Lesnar, and the two will tangle again for the world heavyweight championship.
August 20, 2014
Brock Lesnar
It will be interesting to see how WWE handles the promotion of the world heavyweight championship over the next few weeks. Brock Lesnar is not scheduled to be back on television for approximately a month. John Cena, who is returning next week, is expected to get his rematch story line. Paul Heyman is great at what he does, but management will be curious to see how the audience reacts to a missing champion.

Brock Lesnar
For those of you that missed Monday Night Raw this week, Brock Lesnar made his much anticipated return to WWE and challenged John Cena at Summerslam 2014 for the world heavyweight championship. The story is that Paul Heyman convinced Triple H to go with Plan C because it was the best chance at getting the strap away from Cena.
July 22, 2014
John Cena
Rumors are floating around that the segment on Monday Night Raw between John Cena and Ric Flair was a subtle way for WWE to retire the world heavyweight championship belt. For those that missed it, Cena handed the belt over to Flair and told the legendary performer to keep it. WWE has not released an official statement on the matter yet, so fans will be tuning in to Smackdown and WWE Battleground 2014 to see the fate of the belt.
July 15, 2014
Bobby Lashley
Prior to his injury, there were plans in place to have MVP winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Eric Young. Since the company needed a heel champion to be the antagonist against Kurt Angle and his new on screen authority role, the belt went to Bobby Lashley instead. There are talks that TNA could try to figure out how to transfer the belt over to MVP soon.
July 5, 2014
Bobby Lashley
A big reason why Bobby Lashley was given the TNA World Heavyweight Championship this week is because he is viewed as a marketing asset. The company immediately sent out a press release to inform them that Lashley had become the new champion. TNA is touting his accomplishments as a collegiate athlete, military personnel, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling to the media.
June 20, 2014
Antonio Cesaro
Rumors going around right now has WWE giving the world heavyweight championship to a heel at Money in the Bank 2014. The belief is that the company will set someone up to feud with John Cena and Daniel Bryan over the next few months. Antonio Cesaro has been rumored for a few weeks now, but some are skeptical of that because he hasn't been given a ton of momentum by WWE. Management will either hot shot the belt to Bray Wyatt or go with the safe route in Randy Orton.
June 16, 2014
Austin Aries
Since MVP has a badly injured knee, TNA decided to change up the main event of Slammiversary 2014. Eric Young will still be defending the world heavyweight championship in a steel cage at the event, but he's now going to be doing so against two opponents. The winners of the respective matches between Samoa Joe, Bobby Lashley, Kenny King and Austin Aries will be challenging Young for the belt.
June 13, 2014
Chris Jericho
During a recent podcast interview with Chris Jericho, MVP revealed that he was going to try to fight through the knee injury and work Slammiversary 2014. The former United States Heavyweight Champion is scheduled to challenge Eric Young for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at the pay per view. Management is still working on a backup plan in case his knee does not hold up, however.
June 11, 2014
Brie Bella
During the Payback 2014 pay per view, WWE did a segment where Stephanie McMahon demanded that Daniel Bryan make a decision about the world heavyweight championship. Instead of him giving up the belt that he chased for so long, Brie Bella told Stephanie that she was quitting WWE. Brie then gave a big slap to Stephanie. The belief is that Brie will be given some time off of television.
June 1, 2014
Eric Young
Slammiversary 2014 takes place later on this month, and the main event might be in jeopardy. Originally, Eric Young was scheduled to defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against MVP, but the challenger suffered some sort of knee injury while working an independent wrestling show in England over the weekend. No word yet on the severity of the injury, but MVP was limping pretty badly.
June 1, 2014
Eric Young
For those of you that do not watch Impact Wrestling on a regular basis, MVP has done a heel turn. The former United States Heavyweight Champion has also given himself a shot at Eric Young and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Slammiversary 2014 as well. Management pulled the trigger on the move, as they feel that MVP could be more valuable as an antagonist.
May 9, 2014
Brutus Magnus
In the main event of TNA Sacrifice 2014, Eric Young was able to defeat Brutus Magnus to retain the world heavyweight championship. Young scored the pin fall victory after delivering two piledrivers and a top rope elbow drop. During the match, Magnus attempted to cheat by using a weapon to win the TNA title back, but the referee caught him.
April 27, 2014
Eric Young
Rumors have it that people backstage in WWE are amused by the fact that TNA put their world heavyweight championship around the waist of Eric Young. It is not so much a shot at Young, as many in the industry feel that he is a good worker and a nice person. The ridicule is more about how TNA went about with the story line of crowning him as champion.
April 19, 2014
Eric Young
Since he is now the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Eric Young is being given a bit of a gimmick change, as management wants to move him further away from the comedic character that he has portraying over the years. TNA wants fans to believe that Young is a credible champion. His Monster's Ball match against Abyss on Impact Wrestling was to aid that.
April 19, 2014
Eric Young
Rumors have it that another reason why TNA gave the world heavyweight championship to Eric Young was to keep him from joining Jeff Jarrett in Global Force Wrestling. Young and Jarrett have a long history together, and they remain on very good terms. Since he is a very good worker and well liked backstage, TNA would much rather he stay with them long term.

Bobby Roode
If TNA decides to keep the belt on Eric Young for the long term, an idea which is being tossed around backstage because of his marketing value at the moment, then management is going to push Bobby Roode up as a challenger for the world heavyweight championship. There are still talks of Brutus Magnus recapturing the belt at TNA Sacrifice 2014.

Eric Young
While fans are shocked that Eric Young has captured the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, there are actually a couple of reasons why management went this route. For starters, they wanted to reward Young for his years of loyalty to the company. Secondly, they want to capitalize a bit on his mainstream success as of late.

When Bound For Glory 2014 was announced, there were some concerns because New Japan was doing a show at the same venue on the same day as well. Dixie Carter and Great Muta no longer need to worry about that since NJPW has decided to cancel the event. No word yet on the cause behind the cancellation. There are some speculations that Jeff Jarrett, who was recently in Japan, might have had something to do with it.
August 16, 2014
Dixie Carter
As the company still works on negotiating a new television contract with Spike TV, Dixie Carter is actually moving forward with plans for the company to go back on the road. She is currently working with a marketing firm to come up with a profitable plan on doing live events again. TNA had struggled to fill arenas over the last year, so it is a smart move for Carter to seek outside help in this area.

Dixie Carter
Since her character has a broken back, Dixie Carter is selling that fact by staying away from Impact Wrestling. However, TNA fans will get to see her at least once more. Mikey Tenay and Carter will be doing an interview from her home soon. The move is designed to further the story line and generate more of a reaction for Bully Ray and the other faces.

Dixie Carter
A really interesting move was just announced by Dixie Carter. Impact Wrestling is moving to Wednesday night, and it is happening immediately after this upcoming episode. Dixie Carter
One of the big stories of the year is that Dixie Carter allowed herself to be placed through a table by Bully Ray on Impact Wrestling. That has brought some praise, both from within TNA and across the industry, for Carter. She is not a trained professional wrestler, and she is closing in on 50 years of age. Some do believe that she is trying her best to help the company out.
August 14, 2014
Dixie Carter
There is a lot of pressure on Dixie Carter nowadays because many believe that TNA is going to be closing shop soon. However, the belief is that if she can come through and get a television deal set for Impact Wrestling, then she will have earned the respect of many people backstage in the company and in the industry. A win like that might even help her repair her reputation with online critics.
August 12, 2014
Bully Ray
Since the company views it as a monumental moment, TNA is now selling the table that was shattered to pieces when Bully Ray delivered a top rope power bomb to Dixie Carter on Impact Wrestling last week. The cost is $199.99. It comes with a photo, a piece of the ring canvas, a piece of the table and a certificate of authenticity. It might become a collector's item some day.
August 11, 2014
Dixie Carter
While a lot of fans have been trying to calculate when the final episode of Impact Wrestling is going to be, it is said that TNA management has not openly discussed that possibility at the moment. Dixie Carter is carrying on like the company is going to get another television deal, even if it is not with Spike TV. Officials do not want to make the performers paranoid by making them think otherwise.
August 9, 2014
Dixie Carter
Since the company did not give him another contract, many are under the assumption that Christopher Daniels is bitter towards TNA. That apparently is not the case. During a recent interview, the former X division champion stated that he is actually rooting for Dixie Carter to get a new television contract with Spike TV. Daniels stated that he still has a lot of friends in the company, and he does not want to see them lose their place of employment.

Dixie Carter
For those of you that are not aware, the segment on Impact Wrestling where Dixie Carter was slammed through a table by Bully Ray was designed to write her out of the story line. She has long wanted to be removed from television. TNA came up with a pretty clever way of generating publicity and giving the fans the feel good moment that they have been yearning for.

Dixie Carter
"Every two years I go through this. This is just the first public negotiation I've ever had. I think social media has really changed this kind of thing. I'm used to every two years negotiating with Spike and negotiating with other networks. This time is absolutely not any different. We're still talking with them, but there are other people, thank God, that are interested in our product. I want to grow this brand; I want to grow it domestically. I want us to be able to start having the kind of success domestically that we're having internationally. I'm not going to stop and none of us are going to stop until we get there. I'm real excited to see and I think we'll know sooner than later what's going to happen." - Dixie Carter addresses the situation on what TNA is doing with Impact Wrestling
August 7, 2014
Eric Bischoff
There are those that believe that Eric Bischoff could have been the one to save TNA from their struggles in obtaining a new television contract from Spike TV. Bischoff has a good amount of power with the television networks since he has a couple of shows on the air. He also has a better understanding of wrestling than United Talent Agency, the company currently negotiating on behalf of Dixie Carter, so he would be able to sell the product even better.
August 5, 2014
Bully Ray
TNA is really hoping to spike the ratings for Impact Wrestling this week. The company has already filmed footage of Bully Ray putting Dixie Carter through a table, and they're using that to draw in viewers. The company has even released a public statement, calling August 7th, "National Put Your Boss Through A Table Day". The belief is that TNA is trying to convince Spike to give them a new television deal.

Lately, though, Waltman has eased up. He even stated that Spike TV and Impact Wrestling were a great fit for one another. He also mentioned that he hopes a new television contract gets signed between the two sides.
August 3, 2014
Dixie Carter
While a lot of fans have already started writing the obituary for TNA, the company is moving forward as usual. Dixie Carter
While rumors of their demise are swirling rapidly around the promotion, TNA has opted to continue with business. Dixie Carter has announced that the company has signed Chris Melendez to a multiple year contract. The Purple Heart award recipient only has one leg because of injuries suffered while serving the country in Afghanistan. The move should bring about some positive press for TNA.
