Lucha Underground and TNA

In a rather interesting move, TNA officials contacted Lucha Underground officials to gauge their interest in doing a joint show in Dallas during Wrestlemania 32 weekend. Dixie Carter and her staff believe that if the two sides were to come together, it would create quite the buzz and capitalize on the thousands and thousands of WWE fans that are expected to head towards the pay per view. LU officials were not interested in the partnership.

During his latest podcast interview, Vince Russo stated that Dixie Carter and John Gaburick actually read up pretty frequently on what the internet wrestling community has to say about the product. Russo also stated that TNA tries to appease fans online in hopes of decreasing the amount of criticism that the promotion receives since they are trying to compete with WWE.

POP TV supports TNA

It appears that TNA will now have more support from POP TV than they ever had from Spike TV and Destination America. Network president Brad Schwartz has revealed that he is a long time fan of professional wrestling. He event went to Wrestlemania when he was younger. Schwartz even made sure to bring CBS executives to the meetings because he wanted them to hear from Dixie Carter herself.

TNA India tour postponed

For quite some time now, fans in India were expected that TNA was going to be bringing Impact Wrestling over to their country for a tour in December. Unfortunately for them, they are going to have to wait a bit longer to see that happen. Dixie Carter has decided to postpone the tour. She cites logistical reasons, one of which being the safety of the performers.

Impact Wrestling staying

Some potentially good news for TNA fans that are hoping that Impact Wrestling stays on Destination America. The network recently made a change in general manager. The previous person who held the post was the one that made the decision to drop professional wrestling from their network. Dixie Carter may have a better chance with the new person in charge, who happens to be a woman as well.

TNA stars in India

The heavily anticipated announcement from Dixie Carter has been made, and it is actually a way of promotion another announcement in the near future. She informed fans that Mahabali Shera, Rebel and Ethan Carter are going to be sent to India to do an extensive media tour. The trio is expected to a big announcement while they are over there. The belief is that TNA is trying to expand even further into the country than they already are.

A rather interesting marketing strategy is being done by TNA through social media. They are encourage fans from all over the globe to film themselves doing the Shera Shuffle, which is the signature taunt done by Mahabali Shera during his entrance. Even Dixie Carter herself has done the video and instructed fans to send them in to receive a prize from the company. One of the prizes is a free viewing of Bound For Glory.

Wednesday night wrestling

While it is still much too soon to accurately judge, it seemingly appears that Joe Koff and Dixie Carter signing on with Destination America is a good move. Both TNA and ROH saw an increase in viewership this week. A lot of fans are drawn to the idea that they can get a ton of wrestling all in the same night.

TNA losing viewers

While the internet wrestling community is making a big deal about it, the staff at TNA were not surprised that Impact Wrestling lost more than 100,000 viewers this week. Dixie Carter and her team knew that a drop usually takes place whenever a television show changes days. It has happened to them before, and it has also happened to Smackdown. Once fans figure out that they have moved, then the numbers will slowly start increasing again.
