There is some sadness floating around the world of professional wrestling today. Eighteen years ago, we saw the untimely passing of Brian Pillman. He had a heart attack while staying in a hotel room in Minnesota. The former college football player was there to work a pay per view for WWE later on that night. Pillman was 35 years old at the time of his death.

The headache continues for Jimmy Snuka. He is scheduled to be in court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday. The legendary WWE star is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and third degree murder. Snuka is basically being accused of being involved in the death of his girlfriend back in 1983 when he was a big name star. It should be a long legal battle for the 71 year old, whose health has deteriorated tremendously.

A very disturbing incident took place at a WWE live event in Calgary recently. A fan in attendance decided to be funny by bringing a sign that suggested that Owen Hart had jumped to his own death. Since he was such a beloved performer, it bothered a lot of people in the crowd to see suicide even being mentioned. Security removed the sign as soon as they were notified. No word yet if the fan was ejected or not.

Out of boredom, the internet wrestling community took to social media to point out that Dolph Ziggler had a Megadeath patch on his ring jacket. The actually spelling of the band is Megadeth. Ziggler responded by saying that his designer rushed an order out on very short noticed. The former world heavyweight champion also pointed out that spelling wasn't something that everyone is gifted at.

When word broke that Junkyard Dog had been abusing cocaine shortly before his death in a car accident, there were some that wondered if WWE was going to be doing anything about it since he is in their hall of fame. Management is going to leave things alone since the induction took place more than a decade ago. Plus, this particular bit of news has not circulated through the media much.

In a press release, Jeff Jarrett revealed that GFW will be helping to promote the final movie that Roddy Piper ever starred in. The film is called The Masked Saint, and it will be released in theaters next January. Prior to his death from a heart attack, Piper had agreed to work for Global Force Wrestling as an ambassador. That would have helped draw in fans to the promotion.

Prior to his death, Roddy Piper had apparently reached a deal with GFW to start working for the promotion. The plan was for him to do a Piper's Pit segment at one of the television taping to help the company pitch to the various television networks. Unfortunately, though, the agreement could not come to fruition. Piper had been released from his contract with WWE not too long ago.

As some of you may already know, Ronda Rousey has a huge UFC fight tonight against Bethe Correia. After finding out about his death on Friday, Rousey has decided to dedicate the fight to Roddy Piper, the man who bestowed his nickname to her. Rousey is a well known fan of professional wrestling, and she has gotten to meet some of her childhood favorites through the years.

Initially, when word spread that Roddy Piper had died, the mainstream media stated that it was due to natural causes. Those reports have now been updated. The former United States Heavyweight Champion actually passed away in his sleep because of a heart attack. His family members reiterated that the legendary performer was free of cancer at the time of his death.
